Your main responsibilities will be to monitor current economic developments, analyze trends and assist in
8 B; r+ _; ^/ @7 Fpreparing the economic forecast for the Alberta government. Your analytical skills will be put to the test as you
7 z/ h8 ?- K$ ]9 @6 ~4 u% E$ mmonitor developments within Alberta and the global economy and assess the implications for Alberta’s
economic performance and major revenues. Your excellent written and verbal communication skills will enable
8 |4 T6 {9 D' F& Wyou to present the results of your technical analysis to a non-specialist audience.

6 K3 T. V( R3 E( {+ h+ V' w; f& IYou will work in a team environment and be comfortable in defending your analysis and forecasts to others in
" [- z* K) w# c- c# U, ]the group. The ability to manage numerous projects will prove valuable as you will have to meet multiple
, ~1 F5 W! I( d2 z. a0 ?deadlines. The ability to develop or enhance forecasting models would be a definite asset.

Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Economics is preferred. Equivalencies (such as a Bachelor’s Degree and
significant relevant work experience) will be considered. This position requires a strong grasp of economic
1 ?# o& G; |  U; Z. ^7 Qtheory and quantitative methods, familiarity with economic research techniques and knowledge of econometric
1 F) E4 X# O- ]/ osoftware (e.g. ESTools, Eviews, Shazam), and excellent communication skills.
