JOB SUMMARY: The Chief Returning Officer reports to the President of 4 m- @$ N( n [( K5 M
the Students' Union and oversees all electoral logistics as per Bylaw

Council in the manner set out in the Council Administration Committee

1) To run the elections as per Bylaws 2000% h% s c9 s9 A+ p

2) To run referenda/plebiscites as per Bylaw 2000.$ z8 R8 Q. g% {) Y
8 T; s. C6 F. s' \3) To choose the Deputy Returning Officer(s) and assign their duties.( f6 x, e# _* f, m/ N

4) To organize polls during elections/referenda, including appointing

across campus, and advertising the poll locations." u) {* m3 M6 W/ b" y

; P6 F( H$ E( k/ S. b" [0 mminimum of four (4) working hours a day, between Monday to Friday,

) u; S% H, f" yof voting. These hours are to be posted in advance.

11) To act as the arbitrator in any dispute which may arise during 2 a S/ O7 v$ N. }& [* [0 b
the course of an election/referendum.1 d# z8 W: V0 [9 j

13) To submit to Students' Council, prior to April 30, a final report

QUALIFICATIONS:

+ a4 i$ Y7 ]9 t5 t" ?* \% @1) Must be an undergrad student registered in at least one (1) course 3 ~$ s5 E, {8 Z+ X
for each of the terms of Winter Session and shall be a full Students' 9 I- k9 P' m7 M4 R2 I2 M
Union member.( S7 a3 [" e0 t0 z* y; C( h
2 ]1 I/ n: f1 G2 O$ A! b3 _
2) Must have some experience in student elections.# G) W; t$ H1 X* }1 L

3) Shall not concurrently hold a position on Students' Council, or 1 |( J. H% P- M; L& s* ~( E; y
any of its standing boards, committees, or any other paid position
