JOB SUMMARY: The Chief Returning Officer reports to the President of % y$ V. h' Y" K- E" N% a0 w/ k
the Students' Union and oversees all electoral logistics as per Bylaw

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

2) To run referenda/plebiscites as per Bylaw 2000.5 t" M8 |, l# K% I3 s6 I
4 s* s) F5 j$ i7 c5 i3) To choose the Deputy Returning Officer(s) and assign their duties.

4) To organize polls during elections/referenda, including appointing
\& q7 I7 m. F# aadequate poll staff and situating polls at appropriate locations + [+ p- y+ ^5 Q$ L8 C% l
across campus, and advertising the poll locations.- O w5 `/ K V. k
~- X) e- J4 q+ [% y& t- a& G" e+ B5) To oversee the physical count of the ballots during elections/ 3 ^9 }5 q7 z4 U, w

6) To report the result of an election/referendum to the appropriate 1 B9 x* M7 y3 B# G' |
parties.

10) To be available to all parties during elections/referenda for a
% G6 [" g8 E5 H( Qminimum of four (4) working hours a day, between Monday to Friday,
$ K( | W/ @. x6 Kfrom the first working day after nominations close until the last day . ?& v x U5 @ N$ }- x% k
of voting. These hours are to be posted in advance.2 s. ?1 f: W1 ~' K) Y
/ M6 g2 T& b) |- \8 _8 H- q11) To act as the arbitrator in any dispute which may arise during 8 t! X" @. ^1 ~; a" X. h
the course of an election/referendum.

14) To organize a minimum of one (1) forum to be held during the week

QUALIFICATIONS:

. w" a% g. q2 Y V$ S1) Must be an undergrad student registered in at least one (1) course : x" ]4 q; [* F
for each of the terms of Winter Session and shall be a full Students'
* K7 M6 T3 Q i& ]Union member.

2 e ?$ |; a% _- {2) Must have some experience in student elections.
" \. @( ?5 _% O! o
3 ^7 Y# }5 f( }5 e3) Shall not concurrently hold a position on Students' Council, or
" z! M" P" B, R2 L1 Hany of its standing boards, committees, or any other paid position
8 s6 B# _$ `' M( S; j9 @: swith the Students' Union.

5) Excellent project management skills are required.
