Position Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
4 X* [6 Y8 I% X0 s1 s4 y+ D% `: H6 |and leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a6 G$ b- z5 m$ n) V# V9 T
non-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta. The ED
) L, f7 K0 H9 U' b4 v( ^works within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
* ?# V; m2 x ]0 b4 J2 fpolicies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
) ^& w! ]! P4 A0 n" B$ b3 _# daffairs at all times.6 m- b: N+ _+ h8 f
4 ~- T @2 E# z, X! a! VPrimary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a6 {; c) A( H' ~3 k {; k- V( t$ s
vision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative, B- L! N8 F! k; d
arrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,5 F9 K a8 A d# `
media/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports
( Z% \6 O; g: u3 q* P4 Efor the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
& T# p) I5 v+ y* ^( m) Tto implement the organizational policies., T& _* ~) M. S
; y) o2 f4 c1 r) T' t0 QPLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded, P! @+ ?8 \; a, h
as per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
) t$ Y' {! g1 M2 V9 Q' X& M$ v" sservices; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have
: W0 c) T9 B5 D& \. othe right abilities to help further the organization's mission.

In addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the# S/ w# Z2 x% q, ~
development of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer
% Q( r0 `+ o: U* b& ?& Z0 {the funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure
& u2 e6 W- z' Z, p0 kthat bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
; G; B6 v5 d, Y2 Y0 Wpayable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of% X4 u! S2 } K* r
the organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer.

Key Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups) _ g8 G/ X! r; g% `
including a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government
0 \, T. T' M+ [& s- g+ z7 Y7 U4 M$ jpartners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
; r( v. X; b& V7 Korganizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to' H: G# w) e; H4 F1 ?9 z# M! d% i
work in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and2 j' G9 ^* d+ N+ W7 i0 b( d+ }
managing projects and budgets.5 O H( q0 b( x C7 |: u% w, t. |& }7 g
0 h4 I6 {$ b! Q% l5 yPLUS: Creative approach to marketing; Understanding of board governance
) L" G' s( N( @* ~processes an asset; Experience obtaining sponsorship and writing
