The Organization: Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! is a registered nonprofit
society led by a youth board of directors to enhance/encourage youth

ages 14-24, we foster collaboration between motivated youth,
organizations and citizens wanting to build healthier societies and more
sustainable communities.

. c3 X2 Z7 W" \) g3 n: zPosition Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
and leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
non-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta.  The ED
works within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
7 Q3 ?; H% T; Qpolicies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
affairs at all times.

Primary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
9 }; p3 o6 z( g8 z: L, Gvision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative
arrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,
. ^; g" h3 Z7 w1 V' e+ v6 H; qmedia/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports
0 p8 f- Z( C8 D7 j8 n7 l3 p. _for the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
to implement the organizational policies.

PLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
6 c9 {: R( f9 ^as per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
services; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have

In addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the
development of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer
the funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure
) `1 U2 {8 K& l+ ]; n2 R0 q$ Kthat bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
- |& Y9 ~& K# {6 a1 O$ Apayable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of
3 K1 _5 p4 {) q& [. gthe organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer.

/ D- m$ i9 f9 Z  {; EKey Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups
including a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government
partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
$ W4 I2 I; t$ U3 |5 torganizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
work in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
+ m6 k: N" ]% t, Jmanaging projects and budgets.
