BARTENDER - Room At The Top (RATT) - includes some serving

22.5 hours a week - Hours from 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Monday

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
+ z! t9 _4 j+ p' c9 y$ N: U% S' IOperations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  
, y6 p- j1 V% I* y/ \procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  . G/ B/ c1 G% w/ G: k' R( o/ S
cleanliness and order in the bar.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:5 H/ @; `8 ^' J9 |: n7 m2 T
1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  9 Z9 G# l( @! y3 ?2 X
beverage items.

/ [( O( T9 r8 s  j1 m2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  
: `* @% T& M; V( Xbar and debit floats.
) I1 F$ }, K" d: R, r3 O6 U6 d. l; r' y6 E6 R" n, ?# X! ?
3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  3 D3 z4 A  t' I: Z
each shift, and upon closing.) a( Y$ i+ D2 Y6 o1 [/ P, {
; ~) x2 A8 o2 E( h; s* c2 A/ ?
4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  
7 h6 O, j; u$ ]attention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  4 I/ n" Y: C) [
seating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.

7 a" d' C4 }6 c% }, D5 n5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  / R; h* Q4 Y* L+ ^# Q* x
storage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  
  e9 e6 Z; ^( ?5 w! hproducts, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.+ o+ Q& v& B  U$ d

6 e5 X" K, a" k, a( _6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  
1 ^* |- G6 l5 ~1 C3 \0 m' Kmonitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  & y8 O( v+ A, }5 ^$ {- j4 {* N* r
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  * @- y8 ?7 x5 p0 \! C, b
accordance with Students' Union policies.4 ]% T/ t- \! ^3 x1 r

# c. m+ P- I4 z# A9 N# r" c2 U5 ~7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  , r( R7 y9 f: p: n9 L( A+ J
high standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.0 ?- W$ n7 X# w' D( I/ t# {
To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
: p' Q% |( l: {Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

( H$ |8 P5 m) ^. o9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  
! m/ B8 f0 P* e8 LSenior Operations Manager and Senior Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:
" H4 [, W$ ~; }# ]: ~# j% C1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.! @* q' P% O" d
# _( {: d, ?3 ]) C, d; p6 @
2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  , \, J, u' i. M, E/ a# K) g5 G7 R
operation.
& b, j2 R& B% t; X* Q% p4 |$ f5 Z# ?0 |
3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  
  s2 C# D  f, p  [9 F6 q: \accordance with Students' Union policy.

  k! @  |& x, \# Y  F4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.
( y/ K( g+ j# o; _8 D0 n
' D! m: A4 Z) C+ q1 R5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  , }& f3 K4 e) l) `8 S- u! u* z% E
