. a* `% S5 U5 b3 k) RJOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
Operations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  
2 E8 c/ v' v& |+ I% w0 Zprocedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  
cleanliness and order in the bar.

( G; B8 C4 Z) b0 tDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  
/ G  N2 j& o; N# mbeverage items.
( n6 I& @- ?* k3 l0 u# Y; a! A3 b
2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  
9 q8 O+ @# k& l; i' z( i3 X4 i# ibar and debit floats.
; y8 H% {4 X" w; a5 ]$ T
& |: k* N" Q8 G# u/ G. z  K3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  
% ?! R. ]. U5 h5 X7 Ceach shift, and upon closing.

! H: m7 y1 X: b8 B% k& w4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  
* Y: m; i- r1 |9 ~/ J9 Vattention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  
1 s& n9 B- l! A# Y; xseating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.

2 }& y. N8 ?4 ~$ a' l! k/ i5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  
% j& [) D: b8 d! lstorage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  
% A9 ~$ Z- L( Q( S) q3 Qproducts, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.

6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  
monitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  
  u( l, F9 ^. z. S0 Mhigh level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  
accordance with Students' Union policies.

7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  
3 N. H9 }4 Y- X4 G+ }5 W6 N/ y5 Q& ^high standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.
To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

QUALIFICATIONS:
6 |: |; b5 V: v2 v7 a" R$ f1 [. O1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.

) ?3 E+ W2 v; ]9 i7 K1 i2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  
operation.
0 V- C, X" r) u6 X" v. a. J
( K" k/ u) Q% u9 e. k3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  
$ E. T- H- ?1 X  s8 a% ^$ x  Xaccordance with Students' Union policy.

) M+ d% V/ k% t! O3 W% G3 \' ]( m4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.

5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  
$ Y( V" u& m7 u3 }0 PUnion staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic  
attitude.


Union position
Wage: $7.73/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
