JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
* }& P  M; z+ SOperations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  
1 c" P9 X: R  H4 G# H& w" e/ J: Aprocedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  
  n0 }4 H- I' C) ~cleanliness and order in the bar.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
. r+ W2 C0 A# \, x, D/ t5 F1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  
6 Z* t) N9 x  v  dbeverage items.
* O6 f, ~7 g& m- s: C; O& E4 P
! C( ?' A7 ?+ y2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  
bar and debit floats.

* {: ]4 H  \6 q. _  W3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  
each shift, and upon closing.
, g4 p- J2 j* q3 [5 s. M
4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  
attention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  
/ ]5 H  K  X5 `* u2 Oseating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.

7 d/ P! g$ _& e6 W( Y# h" d5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  
: i/ n1 ^- c. Q- _storage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  
products, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.

$ X9 t: x. C% ^# W6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  
9 [/ i* a8 A9 N$ Z, Imonitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  
, f0 g% E) ?* W, b+ p3 E4 ]3 R: Qhigh level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  
accordance with Students' Union policies.

7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  
& ~- K2 f3 T5 [high standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.
To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
/ _+ }2 P( f5 J- }5 wAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

9 N9 _: @0 v, L" {4 W3 ^QUALIFICATIONS:
2 E) v1 e4 N7 [1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.

2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  
6 o% M' v1 n$ Z, l- yoperation.
3 f; c! y5 X% k; _# L) q" e( u
3 q- B, d% S/ \" x3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  
2 Z# t  S4 N! y" ]5 L; Caccordance with Students' Union policy.

2 W7 O8 l: E/ T4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.

5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  
" G9 U/ W. ?8 m' }, W- F% I% u# C  h7 JUnion staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic  
attitude.


Union position
Wage: $7.73/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food
