Thursdays

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
6 }0 u  g# V- c" L! u' C3 ?& fBartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
carrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
/ f" h8 R# M7 w$ O5 d; vcustomer service and room cleanliness.

9 ?/ Z, D8 l! G9 D- g) VDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
orders.
1 P, r9 r7 v* ~" r+ q4 e# @# Y/ W/ d
2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
# q( m; y" a  s8 f1 l4 w) x/ daccordance with Students' Union policies.

" c7 O- a" I5 @$ \3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
total cash-out value of items sold on each shift.

0 r0 O& c  z+ s  [4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
including regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
4 F0 L& G8 N. R( Y) V& H. {and ensuring floor surface cleanliness.

3 V( I8 ~* ?* d) W5 |5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
  {* Q( F& T8 |action when necessary in accordance with established Server  
intervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
- [; Q( Y8 {# q% g/ ]& W6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
, y. M0 U, \1 H0 RAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations  
Manager.

+ P; ]2 ]) m6 LQUALIFICATIONS;
3 D8 L5 d1 K* m8 `& E; V  _7 K1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
2 V9 y, \& F5 K1 f# a
2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
5 f0 j3 N4 P: w; M( z: Zoperation.
/ k/ Y+ n6 v+ Y/ V7 o
3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
+ Z& o2 a+ K9 ]! ipolicy.
! i: a+ t5 U7 Y% ^  h6 m! z/ s
4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
. G; h/ s, ~* u$ ncard transactions.

% [3 u$ m9 x9 S; {# F5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
! U& Y# O& M' i" {$ u; v) g  oprofessional, friendly and diplomatic manner.
