SERVER (RATT)

11.5 hours a week - Hours from 2:45 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and  
Thursdays

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
  L5 o0 d. R$ @( D( U# P! G. w6 BBartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
carrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
customer service and room cleanliness.

2 |3 U1 \* b$ S! z# eDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
orders.
* @% Z! {' o+ x# }
2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
0 a! s: U  Q+ {high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
- |# m$ k6 K2 e8 k  }- }& t* [accordance with Students' Union policies.

1 L% Y6 }- q: F3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
total cash-out value of items sold on each shift.
6 Z" U1 w; ^$ ^: o1 G' G
4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
7 [2 }( a- J# v' k! e& `: a/ ^5 _including regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
; q& ^2 a$ l+ A3 y7 Z1 kand ensuring floor surface cleanliness.

' V$ Z  N: t- h3 ?8 |* f5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
action when necessary in accordance with established Server  
intervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
0 W/ d3 R& @! Y* L6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.
& r- f; a+ r( `$ b+ \9 Z+ s' G
$ v( W9 U5 y* V- m8 i7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations  
Manager.

+ H1 c' R, w: ^- |) A/ \' q6 ?QUALIFICATIONS;
$ U/ \  ]) \7 f$ T4 v  h; I1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
! w1 G& L( \3 U1 F2 w$ J/ R- Q
2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
operation.

3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
policy.

: r- t/ @9 Y2 g  H* B4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
card transactions.

5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
" w4 @/ [, M3 Xprofessional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

Union Position

Wage: $7.00/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
  w" h. X* Z5 M' v0 tpurchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
