The University of Alberta - Centre for International Business Studies is
currently recruiting for the position of Summer Program Assistant - Job

Salary to be paid will be $14.00 per hour (includes vacation pay, stat

Hours per week will be 20 - 30 - 20 during the first few weeks, then 30
- 35 per week during the busy period. There may be an opportunity for
, ?9 F6 A2 R0 c/ B4 d, _* @: Jthe student to stay on a casual basis (10 - 20 hours per week) once the

& @9 z5 `- i* fDuties include: preparing for programs by working with current staff at
CIBS to secure and schedule various program requirements (off-campus
9 E0 d# r. y0 g9 _8 `) @venues, tour agents, goods and services, program materials and supplies,
7 a* g8 ~. g+ }6 @2 @  ?. ietc.); reproducing and distributing documents and correspondence for
participants, assisting to orient participants to the University and
their program on their arrival, and trouble-shooting for them during
their program; booking program venues, setting up for sessions,
" G$ V$ q& _0 z6 _: o5 k  M: r, ?assisting visiting speakers or invited session presenters, striking
venue at end of session; traveling as guide with groups on in-city
outings or site visits, or, occasionally, on overnight out-of-city
excursions (does not involve driving or overnight week night
excursions); interpreting (non-technical exchanges) at meetings or

such as schedules, itineraries, notices, correspondence, PowerPoint
presentations, program binders, evaluation forms, etc.

' B1 K  I0 Y3 e2 g& T" y, g' hQualifications include: senior undergrad student; coursework in
Commerce, Education or Economics preferred, ability to communicate
fluently (oral and written) in English and Mandarin Chinese,
demonstrates a high-level of self organization, initiative to undertake
a variety of tasks; ability to coordinate individual efforts with those
of co-workers, excellent interpersonal organization and time-management
9 m" w$ h/ q% ]6 ~  sskills; accuracy to detail; working knowledge of MS applications (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook); administrative experience an asset,
experience coordinating group activities an asset.
