The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.

Salary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Duties include: working closely with graduate students and research
technicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
for use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
/ C- |5 \& O/ o7 O* T$ G: binclude carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
" D/ y% C* A/ t5 e" {compounds by chromatography.

, u4 x- d% h- gQualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
Chemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
6 W) i- s- n& lanalytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
% T4 \1 P  y; L) Z, Gseparations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
) h' R& A$ g/ [" r0 U/ Bof a team essential.
This position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
! d- z. u; [+ h( j9 o; `and chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
! @, p. E- y8 N- O' Dhope to work in these areas.
