The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.

% ]3 g4 g2 I" Y7 ISalary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Duties include: working closely with graduate students and research
* G( X' E8 n* m- i: F3 I5 M- Ktechnicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
for use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
include carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
' s0 m2 O$ y5 Q2 x# Acompounds by chromatography.

Qualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
; s% E3 `( g' L0 _. `* `6 C. eChemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
analytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
separations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
+ ~4 V4 T/ h7 N2 f5 r& K2 dof a team essential.
This position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
and chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
hope to work in these areas.
