Location: Research Data Centre, University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta
Hourly rate: $20 ($40,101 per annum prorated at 12 hours per week)
0 K" I8 B- S: ZEmployment Tenure: Part-time/Causal (approximately 12 hours per week). The incumbent’s

Statistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and
& r& _0 N, v5 j1 D0 o0 V$ Kweekend hours.
You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer
* S8 a; b* P1 x& ~3 s( Flab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the
+ S, @1 l$ Q2 S8 {, Ycentre.
These responsibilities include:
/ y1 P: J; X0 c7 G, c7 }/ U-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.
-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.
-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and
+ D# N4 _2 i8 q: {! E. {4 Frenewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to
8 m2 U8 Z8 Y  vfacilities’ maintenance, etc.
) G4 d/ o2 e/ [-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic
) \3 }) A, W4 U9 H- @' A% [8 \7 g- Wclients’ files etc.
+ P1 L/ }9 O  BStatement of Qualifications
Education:
-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences,
$ l1 E) T3 l1 ^! g- }education, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination
of education, training and /or experience.
Knowledge/Technical competencies:
-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.
8 N1 }  F1 ?3 N! K6 E# P-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word
+ `# t* J* J! `8 ^- ?5 E+ L0 gand Excel.
-Experience using and updating an information database.

8 r" @" o$ O; U3 o9 R0 R3 FAssets:
-Experience in using MS Access.
' n# `6 \: m% b- I5 q. B2 l-Experience in web page publication, xml and/or IT network knowledge.
-Experience in one of the Statistics software: SAS, SPSS or STATA
Abilities:
-Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
6 `0 I6 F4 }5 \* u2 \-Ability to operate a computerized system to research information.
-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Personal suitability: Dependable, detail orientated, discrete, thorough, effective interpersonal
relations.
