EDMONTON — Southgate Centre today began a $108 million expansion to accommodate more than 30 new retailers and restaurants.( h' E1 c/ z0 q0 d; L
) _2 ^& c7 d8 @/ K
The two-year project, facing 111th Street, will add 126,000 square feet of leasable space on the ground floor — and two levels of parking above.

( y) N2 f( T: [/ S+ W“Part of the redevelopment will include enhanced site lighting and closed-circuit TV security systems monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” said Southgate general manager Paul Fairbridge.- G. k( A, ^( ^. W- I4 ?

It also will include hotel-quality washrooms and private sitting rooms for nursing mothers.
