Average house prices have hit half a million dollars in southwest Edmonton and almost $400,000 across the Capital region.

Edmonton-area prices averaged $398,476 for single-family homes and $325,339 for all housing forms.3 n$ O" V6 ~% i8 O( ^: k3 h) `( C8 b
# w& z% F( w7 W1 sIn only the first three months of this year, average home prices have climbed 12.4 per cent, so Pratt has abandoned her earlier forecast of a 15 per cent increase for the full year.

9 C3 @( S! B* q“We’re predicting that prices will continue to rise until August, at four to five per cent per month, then at two per cent per month,” she said today.
