Today I was volunteering at a post office. A man in an old jacket with uncombed hair came to the counter. He had a wallet in his hand, and put it on the counter. He told me: 4 n% m5 s0 ~2 D* C& j9 @3 Y9 \1 Q
"I am going to send it back".
* n1 S8 O& P- Z! w! g/ }* \I did not understand what he meant by "it", because usually people would send a letter or a parcel back to the sender, and I did not see he had any of those. So I asked him:
" S& T6 m7 S# ` }3 ~+ C "I am sorry, what are you sending back?" * e/ `+ @$ P& E3 j0 D7 X0 |
He said, "the Wallet, I am sending back the wallet." Then he added: "I am going to pay the postage." , {4 l( e& K; D3 D. s# v
"Oh, you found a wallet, and you are going to send it back to the person who lost it?" " a. [) }4 V: C6 F
"Yes, I did."
4 k, Z9 Y6 K' T, kFinally I understood: this dishevelled man found a wallet, and he was going to return it to the owner by post.
# m) z' p) I* ~, e5 AHe took the ID card from the wallet, and showed me the address of the loser of the wallet. I saw there were several one-hundred bills in the wallet.
% D" f/ o2 b5 L"Are you going to take some money from the wallet to pay the postage?"

He took out his wallet, which was nearly worn-out, small, and almost empty. There were some coins inside.

He did not look up, and said: "I do not have a home."

He did not a posses a home, but he had a big heart. He had the precious fortune of being a man of integrity. % c8 S) Q- M. w5 J! f! A
