Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities
Modify menus or create new ones that meet quality standards
% `9 }1 Y2 w/ N1 I3 O- v# b. ]% PEstimate food requirements and food/labor costs
/ R9 o+ ^" |+ b; Y7 K& R5 W0 BSupervise kitchen staff’s activities
' {+ w" ]% [2 ?% kArrange for equipment purchases and repairs
Recruit and manage kitchen staff
Rectify arising problems or complaints
Give prepared plates the “final touch”
: f" n& r. x: D# n# kPerform administrative duties
7 v5 u) r% Y3 B6 e4 H1 QComply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards

Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

Keep up with cooking trends and best practices
Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
