% I8 U3 O0 \- x2 K4 G( G5 p" tAs in the overall population, young people of Chinese origin are more likely to be unemployed than older adults. This is especially true for young men. In 2001, 18% of male Chinese labour force participants aged 15 to 24 were unemployed, compared with 14% of all young Canadian men in this same category. At the same time, 15% of young female Chinese labour force participants were unemployed, compared to 13% of their counterparts in the general population.
