The fire started around 11 p.m. near the Wolf Willow and Rio Terrace neighbourhoods in the west end of the city. N6 J' X9 V; T9 R: B! _
Edmonton Fire Rescue spokeswoman Sarah Meffen said 17 fire trucks were called to fight the fire. It was declared under control at 1:20 a.m., and was officially out at 3:20 a.m.. Y- k6 Y& c" s7 C
The fire covered a large area of the ravine, Meffen said, but none of the nearby homes were evacuated.
