　　A hundred leagues locked in ice,
6 o. Q. Q' I( ^: s- I% u1 _8 w6 y
, ~9 s6 ?; }2 d9 W. Q( q  J　　A thousand leagues of whirling snow.

　　Both sides of the Great Wall
+ C5 s) W  R7 R" j4 \* z
% o4 {" G8 y- V/ w) W0 b　　One single white immensity.
* N$ v$ L  |5 N( y9 ^: c
　　The Yellow River"s swift current
/ w. {9 W; Z' [: ?. K8 n
% V6 y9 f+ A6 F. r. O　　Is stilled from end to end.
* p& \1 P+ `/ z
2 k9 n3 K" U' n$ E% K! K　　The mountains dance like silver snakes
0 Z9 X( E' H; s7 v4 n
& U( x) j' ?% a' z- n, ?/ D　　And the highlands* charge like wax-hued elephants,

　　Vying with heaven in stature.

* f% L" A1 Z1 G4 W　　On a fine day, the land,

( ?: h1 ~3 `9 t% w1 [5 u　　Clad in white, adorned in red,

. a: V' G9 u6 S  l5 D7 N　　Grows more enchanting.

- {4 i! ^' h2 e" P! `- t6 b9 ?　　This land so rich in beauty

　　Has made countless heroes bow in homage.

　　But alas! Chin Shih-huang and Han Wu-ti

　　Were lacking in literary grace,

　　And Tang Tai-tsung and Sung Tai-tsu

　　Had little poetry in their souls;
　　And Genghis Khan,

　　Proud Son of Heaven for a day,

1 ^3 a4 u4 p) \) C8 B6 {3 |' L( }3 d　　Knew only shooting eagles, bow outstretched

　　All are past and gone!

　　须晴日 看红装素裹 分外妖娆

　　江山如此多妖 引无数英雄竞折腰 惜秦皇汉武 略输文采

　　唐宗宋祖 稍逊风骚 一代天骄 成吉思汗 只识弯弓射大雕
