“Under this government, we have had the highest levels of sustained immigration in Canadian history,” he said.

Uppal also defends bill C-24, legislation that allows the government to strip citizenship from dual citizens convicted of terrorism or treason. He said when someone has been convicted and served their time of a charge as serious as terrorism it’s common sense to deport them.0 w! }4 i- q' l n* c' e' x" R
“If we can have their citizenship stripped, because they’re a dual citizen, than I would rather not have them in this country,” he said.

“People are really, really under fear and they want to see these changes,” he said.
