The Alberta Tories continue to slide, while the NDP surges and the Wildrose maintains the lead, according to the latest election poll released Tuesday morning.

* G/ a0 m4 t' ?4 u' `/ Y7 A# TThe NDP is dominating Edmonton at 51%, according to the survey, and is in a three-way race in Calgary.: b/ z+ i+ ~* [" t6 ^9 o' \
r: p4 \* ^7 H5 hThe telephone poll of 3,121 Albertans conducted Monday showed that compared to a week earlier:

& d* L4 }& G5 f' [4 |9 x' A4 e" pWildrose is flat with 24% support9 j" J x& W5 n$ u- e G& |# G
NDP increased to 23% support, up 3%

The Alberta Party is up a point to 3%

“One thing is becoming clear at this stage of the campaign, the effect of the budget and residual anger to the governing PCs will have a lasting impact on the outcome of this election,” said Mainstreet’s Quito Maggi.- N* j S9 O! W% M+ Z8 Q

Maggi said there is still time for the Tories to swing momentum as, with nearly three weeks before the May 5 vote, “more and more people will be paying attention.”

4 h" I$ B y, O% U6 \“The window of opportunity for that correction is closing quickly,” Maggi noted.

He said the election could turn into a two-way race between the NDP and Wildrose, leaving the possibility Tories shift votes to the Wildrose, or vice versa, to stifle NDP momentum.
