ATV crash leaves woman dead, man presumed drowned

5 S5 {4 N9 T8 F! q0 WAccording to RCMP, a 58-year-old woman tried to drive an ATV down an embankment by the Rivers Reservoir spillway, just before 8:30 p.m. on July 12.
* N5 O' z8 V% M, A" B6 V2 A2 x7 D. T7 L
She lost control of the machine and hit a 39-year-old man, who was fishing. The woman, from the town of Rivers, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man, from Brandon, was knocked into the fast-moving water and disappeared. Rescue efforts failed to locate the man, who is presumed drowned.

Search efforts and the investigation into the incident are both ongoing, RCMP said.4 ^) n, k6 l7 F2 \6 ]% M1 N

m: S* c* H1 I$ E! c \Rivers is located about 30 kilometres northwest of Brandon. It is near the Little Saskatchewan River, which enters the Rivers Reservoir, also known as Lake Wahtopanah.
