An ATV crash in western Manitoba has left a woman dead and a man, who was knocked into spillway, missing and presumed drowned. CBC's Nelly Gonzalez reports.

An ATV crash in western Manitoba has left a woman dead and a man, who was knocked into spillway, missing and presumed drowned.

+ E1 X2 R5 h6 [7 _* B/ s) R+ GAccording to RCMP, a 58-year-old woman tried to drive an ATV down an embankment by the Rivers Reservoir spillway, just before 8:30 p.m. on July 12.+ N6 D2 {8 t6 Y6 ^/ v
6 a% V7 ?6 | ^8 W3 U; Y9 jShe lost control of the machine and hit a 39-year-old man, who was fishing. The woman, from the town of Rivers, was pronounced dead at the scene.& i/ ^* [" X; B7 [0 \

The man, from Brandon, was knocked into the fast-moving water and disappeared. Rescue efforts failed to locate the man, who is presumed drowned.

A Brandon man is presumed drowned after he was knocked into the fast-moving waters of the Rivers Reservoir Spillway on July 12 by a woman on an ATV. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Search efforts are still underway, as well as an RCMP investigation. (Nelly Gonzalez/CBC )

Rivers is located about 30 kilometres northwest of Brandon. It is near the Little Saskatchewan River, which enters the Rivers Reservoir, also known as Lake Wahtopanah.
