Position Title: Community Development Worker
6 _9 F% ^8 Y8 F- @; W: R& bHours of Work: 17.5 hours per week
$ f0 O8 X$ M/ E. y4 u" y: P: GKey Responsibilities
-community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
5 R2 b+ S! ^2 a0 p/ \-workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
-fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
- z" \4 S% s' X) U-develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
3 ]3 a2 E) ?) H4 ^& \+ h2 \/ N% J-coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members
$ D4 H0 H% s# Y: @( y-assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.
) S6 U9 V7 k2 j2 d1 ~% n4 z-participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
-demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
+ H& A+ r9 }8 k-participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
-write quarterly and final reports for ISP
6 \* }- [4 _4 f  g-assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
& M. P  ?- r8 s3 Z/ X. G4 j-update membership database
-work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
-report to ISP team leader

-degree in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
-good oral and written Chinese and English skills
: ^4 J% q) s+ P! L-experience in community work and immigrant services

Security check (at the expense of employee) and child welfare check
