/ ?- F% F$ z+ H$ JResponsibilities and Tasks
5 b5 |- y8 \4 m) m. T) Y* k/ g; B+ i  d
-        Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment  
; W8 ?9 H3 T3 j! ?-        Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
-        Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
-        Select type and size of pipe required
/ M' F- A7 ]1 q! ^; w" Z-        Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
8 {1 I; z1 a# L0 Q- M-        Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
0 c( a) x+ q% t* E-        Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
-        Test system for leaks using testing equipment
. t6 T% S( S, z-        Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
-        Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
2 v/ r4 q* o! m$ R-        Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program
$ l+ O, h: W3 ~+ @/ K-        Other tasks related to pipefitting as may be required during the course of business

-        Completion of secondary school
-        Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
( ]: K5 p7 A1 j# |) H# g-        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
-        Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
-        Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset
-        Safety tickets are considered an asset
0 e2 j# q$ @/ J- N* Z0 A-        Valid drivers’ license is an asset
8 u5 W6 z. u! ?-        Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset
-        Valid driver’s license is an asset
