/ ?- F% F$ z+ H$ JResponsibilities and Tasks

- Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment
; W8 ?9 H3 T3 j! ?- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements! D$ m& \0 w9 q) a
- Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines6 w+ l3 l7 H8 H/ V; u
- Select type and size of pipe required
/ M' F- A7 ]1 q! ^; w" Z- Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
8 {1 I; z1 a# L0 Q- M- Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system

- Test system for leaks using testing equipment

- Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system

- Completion of secondary school/ }8 k) q% ?$ J7 G2 [
- Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
( ]: K5 p7 A1 j# |) H# g- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals# U0 r: @( s5 U' p! H
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence9 @# A$ t, P. G

- Safety tickets are considered an asset
