Location: The job is based in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, however frequent travel to project sites in various provinces of Canada is required.

Responsibilities and Tasks

- Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment 1 W4 {6 `$ _( `8 \
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements- p. V( E0 z+ v6 [8 a" I
- Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
% W+ E) q% Y% @- a1 J0 G2 k- Select type and size of pipe required3 d) E8 \. B0 \1 x
- Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools# f5 m# @1 G, u0 @, {3 @+ n, ]
- Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
& ]' y. S. \+ ]$ [; k7 x" ~0 W: e- Install supports, valves, piping and control systems) D. I* \/ x0 A& V# z6 Z- \) Q
- Test system for leaks using testing equipment
% i/ N7 M W% r3 D$ l- Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system W' \6 F8 q. K. i- V% H% L6 I
- Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system

- Completion of secondary school7 s( H4 W! S; j$ o% Y& \( o
- Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
! `/ x9 K5 {0 I& _- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
