Title: Pipefitter

  r5 c0 S- S9 ]5 JLocation: The job is based in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, however frequent travel to project sites in various provinces of Canada is required.

Responsibilities and Tasks

/ c4 V0 W: z' ~% N0 M-        Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment  
0 x0 O4 |/ _. H* _! E0 e. ~. W# l-        Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
-        Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
" p. _' R# K- D4 M& B-        Select type and size of pipe required
-        Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
. n0 e. l) u# c# Y9 H9 W1 Z- F( z' L-        Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
-        Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
-        Test system for leaks using testing equipment
-        Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
-        Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
8 x" a2 V: Z- ?5 ?, e/ Q4 L  Z-        Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program
-        Other tasks related to pipefitting as may be required during the course of business

Required Qualifications

! _1 M% b* U4 I- [-        Completion of secondary school
-        Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
3 B' ~7 J- i, x3 }0 J-        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
7 o/ l" q9 s; u6 i. J. s# L-        Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
-        Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset
-        Safety tickets are considered an asset
-        Valid drivers’ license is an asset
-        Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset
-        Valid driver’s license is an asset
