Department: Fabrication Shop       

Reports to: Fabrication Shop Supervisor

/ G2 w- J) R# @. q. w+ BLocation: The job is based in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, however frequent travel to project sites in various provinces of Canada is required.


, r* H+ ]" k; L; dResponsibilities and Tasks

-        Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment  
-        Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
- n6 x, M. h8 H8 M( k-        Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
-        Select type and size of pipe required
  h  O! H. G( z: U& d3 d$ @5 N-        Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
-        Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
% N$ b0 @" w  o& u-        Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
. a1 ~9 n2 ]6 R7 g-        Test system for leaks using testing equipment
7 `3 ]5 A& R+ H" V* I& k-        Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
: X2 p! X$ q0 g4 D-        Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
/ c9 A- z7 \8 f7 M$ [; A-        Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program
-        Other tasks related to pipefitting as may be required during the course of business

Required Qualifications

-        Completion of secondary school
-        Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
-        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
-        Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

+ y0 p8 a  [3 J# k: r-        Safety tickets are considered an asset
-        Valid drivers’ license is an asset
-        Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset
