_ {( i/ |& f0 E( I1 P+ x0 QResponsibilities and Tasks
( T1 c; G; {5 k! ^: r4 W5 e) {# ^. C% C8 j1 k: g' l
- Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment
! u2 Y& h D/ B0 q) ~' F8 y- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements0 c( F' L& Y; }, z$ p5 n! m6 n
- Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
5 r1 R0 r2 b$ @7 C* q+ F0 p W: q- Select type and size of pipe required
+ i6 k+ I! f& C/ e) M; l- Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
3 S4 K8 t) ]( z$ I- Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system6 b% ]) N) e( Z
- Install supports, valves, piping and control systems% e8 }/ U/ e9 J1 k1 S x
- Test system for leaks using testing equipment
5 }5 z$ J/ D) m! T& D6 F- Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system1 K2 e& {- l' F/ K
- Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system {* S' D _- m0 T4 I' `- N$ }
- Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program8 _9 a; O3 B) ~; {& D* h
- Other tasks related to pipefitting as may be required during the course of business

Required Qualifications5 e% e' M u a7 A
2 U& R" q6 \# Y. W- Completion of secondary school
9 k+ }. U+ ~' ?4 J, `; i- Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
1 z; f6 m$ y# \& G- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals# E# Z# J' U4 C+ e
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence- O8 |# t# g* z5 ] t
- Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset
$ Y. J. e7 v, W$ b! v' j/ u- Safety tickets are considered an asset
