Position Title: Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker

Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker. y$ b7 L' y `# k0 b, G: C• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person5 T/ Y, F! b" g& J$ y
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
; ^; e6 D6 V) ]* {+ O+ e4 Y• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
' I# m+ d2 D+ b, E; `+ Z• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter% m! V( q8 X6 Q, S/ A
• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents% w; ~5 j' w8 ~; {1 @7 }3 H3 t/ ~
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker
5 V- Y2 Y9 E' j! _- B• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events
5 i1 T9 }. s- t9 d4 D- |• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events6 n7 q4 m; k7 E* J# P# v7 O7 h
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean
+ D/ w! {5 T/ H4 q6 X8 q- W9 p• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:# w# @$ f y0 C/ k) i6 I9 W3 H
• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person$ U' s5 ] |" M! y
• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
! z* `& @$ X3 N/ @8 m, J# w• Good English writing and oral communication skills8 s$ e; |* |- |) d' ?6 {' T
• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients! {; h) N, d6 Y* Y
• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook7 s: Z# a3 T/ `" d2 {
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately & W. k a' Z( w( q' a: y8 m
• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds( Z2 C7 b9 }- B/ u5 V' m+ C1 \
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment

8 d3 d& J& G/ vQualifications:
: L% l' }7 P- h7 x+ O. I/ q• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience
: Z* t3 y, A6 ^8 B) ~8 R9 A• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment+ A/ J# J, g2 N; [6 w4 u5 C& k
• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism, u# Q2 |& h) I3 @/ B
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
