续签study permit要提前多久？快毕业了如果卡的时间节点上过期上几天要紧不吗

大家好， 我7月17号就要答辩了， 但是猛然发现我study permit是8月4号过期， 现在很akward，不知道要不要续签study permit. 想请问续签是不是只要在8月4号之前提交申请就行？还是要提前30天？我看CIC给的很有歧义， 求解释：“Check the expiry date on your study permit, and make sure you apply before that date. You should apply for renewal at least 30 days before your current permit expires”
