Job Title: Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project

Job Purpose:1 c' K* W+ W( b4 K: B1 g
To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
: V* |' ]3 ]2 l& b. g* Q• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
6 J( Q2 F( Y- a' ` S• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;( W; g: z7 A5 b# K' `
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;, }* Q2 x" [( Z9 l
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; 9 V4 T; v6 R; m+ @: s4 g
• Risk Management and succession planning;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include: 7 A' O" j R3 f( C
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;! v& d# v- W& k# }( j& U- C
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;- P- s2 s' A) P0 c/ o
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
$ X$ k$ H z9 ?• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities+ h$ M1 q7 B! \) G; V; f1 Z1 _- x
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
! L. L6 L5 V: s2 l2 v1 |• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
. M6 x2 |6 l8 w• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
: y7 b" {5 {: {! Z C• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

Qualifications:
% T5 y/ t. _' O1 v! W. t• Degree in communications, human services or related field;, o$ f3 i ~3 M- {" o6 c
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;5 c! S! u2 a8 @9 T
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; , ^+ v- l$ l* Y, @6 n
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
% M; _- C8 z3 D. K; ]• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical." u+ \" V' O0 j; v( ?9 t+ M/ H
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
1 g/ |# V: Q0 ]' o• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
* U& ^" C6 i( g) ^5 H• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;* R" H/ ?$ x8 n& G6 w! d- @
• Current valid drivers license;
0 U, ~" r+ a4 w7 R" ]. u, v• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;$ ~ }* I# ?! T$ D
• Conflict resolution skills;! v6 J% O' f6 @8 i4 }
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
