Job Title:        Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project

2 d0 [: T+ A5 ?To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise.  This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth.  Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. 1 F$ r0 e  z; w/ P5 ]) k. x

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming.   (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)) D! i- p# K6 |$ b- z

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:6 n& h" T  v3 J: l2 Z
•        Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
0 r/ G" [3 l: J•        Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;6 ^# J0 w9 X- n( A* {# C; P
•        Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;' ^0 u- b  R; n& Z
•        Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; 1 d, |: g2 B) Q" U. r; y! _2 W: R
•        Risk Management and succession planning;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include:  / ^& k. l; P9 D( b7 U$ ?9 Q# U5 ]
•        Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;: M" g: ]1 q3 s- r" G, K4 Z
•        Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;, U+ U8 K* `9 V+ W) S3 F5 e
•        Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;% h' A: U& d5 z6 h
•        Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities  G( E- q0 I* u$ O7 @
•        Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
' ?) }, U* E* d. w; o- ~$ q•        Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;; q0 C2 u- X. b2 H1 [8 e1 a
•        Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
9 p9 ]) ]  t. i7 {& w# B•        Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

Qualifications:
4 H& N1 `( F8 v! i1 I' b•        Degree in communications, human services or related field;
! P% w2 o6 T( J3 c•        Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
; b7 q; P; F0 C1 y•        Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;  
( P6 g8 Y4 [! y* X# L. f: t# ?8 q  g( b•        Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
1 q* Q" X* c8 V! e0 g' k•        The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.# }/ @, }0 `. T' ?: E/ m" y
•        Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
$ N( G: r7 Z4 p. t, S9 O) |•        Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;$ A8 q/ Q& L8 R# L  ~
•        Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;+ v0 y  L9 J2 s6 r
•        Current valid drivers license;' ]: ~4 f" ]: i. n, a6 j- }  X, T
•        Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
# E+ }5 W* i1 N: T, r: v3 L•        Conflict resolution skills;9 r6 p6 |% ~7 u5 H" E$ T0 t0 {
•        Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
, }3 i+ {% h1 U  m•        Committed and passionate about children;4 m7 ]9 n; E* |2 v% l
