Job Title: Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project

Job Purpose:
1 U( q; N1 H% rTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)* o+ a' a7 c& i0 e4 C

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
3 n _) R0 c1 O" ]% V* C2 @6 `• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
' B% o. U# Z" E• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
$ F* o& h1 [ |* {• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;. K4 X* f S- L
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; ) k5 l4 A7 R9 h& m, ?
• Risk Management and succession planning;

7 p4 e# ?# Z/ O. [. m$ \Program Duties and Responsibilities include:
# M& l" t( u- [' t! l9 Y1 X# o• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;4 I7 B+ H, O% C3 q2 U" F
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;- }: y* J$ U( m# w3 S9 P' @& v
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
) F- D9 n0 b1 |( ^& z• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities+ J: k3 O) ^, }$ ~
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;# w4 G; u) t- n: ]! j
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;6 e8 A9 ]- S% ~
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;" u$ }$ Y- o( t1 u. E2 I
• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;; i, e `7 C4 X' l: y" H( z8 O

Qualifications:/ C5 |2 `4 t& ?* e7 Q& H$ H
• Degree in communications, human services or related field;: B6 k6 ]) e* }8 q4 x5 n' o
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
" T! d* b% M# T+ Y6 o• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
( N7 z0 I0 `9 ?4 v7 b" a S• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;. J, f$ [4 n$ J
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
0 k9 L% y- M; j' j M• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;2 v) @$ j4 N, |( t
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
. m7 Q2 n8 B0 f& g( c* _6 U( S• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
3 r- E+ o) v# z% N4 e! p' V1 Y X5 y• Current valid drivers license;, j7 b( D0 x, N( _, `& T' v* {
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
. y, G& l0 z' o7 Y• Conflict resolution skills;
2 a$ k% a3 ^; u2 A• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
