Job Purpose:
5 J$ _- ]& E5 `+ qTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. / r8 n* k; |. R" V1 n4 _ Z+ ~
! j/ }. f, n2 s; kThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)7 U( Z H6 x6 z( r

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:1 G H) _8 @) X5 ]
• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;3 ~3 }% `% Y4 R" y4 M1 d
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
( O7 N% J, V* k: m. P2 v4 Q6 k• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;# k$ Q9 |' t4 Q6 j# y6 [% U! g
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
7 D* n' S$ |" B& F• Risk Management and succession planning;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include:
" [+ n/ |& f }" @+ p• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
" U1 h7 ^' H% k* k3 a5 J• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;+ I! c% ?) u" X; S1 R9 \2 t4 f
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;" U3 l$ F5 Y! M# x
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
4 _+ S$ V/ b; ]+ `0 H* c5 t; |! z, Z• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
" w/ \) b9 ~% u6 J+ {# L• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;* v$ T5 A$ f) \; }1 D3 L# l( s+ s
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
# m" R8 T) Q+ W: g• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;
; V6 e& d9 k0 l, D* [0 g& }+ r& L" Y* T0 k5 z# g. Q* _$ Z7 l
Qualifications:
* m; W; p4 Q3 X# y6 W, W• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
+ a1 j0 o) e/ F• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
# P5 B) a: A; P: ~6 p) [• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; 6 |: Z# I) F8 s8 e% {/ [' a
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;7 d+ u! ^8 ^6 N
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.$ n6 [4 E: K/ l# C9 P6 ]) X- p3 `
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;! h! [6 N; ?$ v$ A* j5 `! g
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;) }. @8 w# f) M/ ~3 P. t, R& R
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
' W. X7 d2 `$ _8 I- l) ]& ~• Current valid drivers license;
$ B! ^6 p: _4 O• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
; i8 m s e$ @' ^• Conflict resolution skills;
( M* U3 V, l) i2 d' r, G: u• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;, g g1 I3 d0 P8 O9 r t
• Committed and passionate about children;
