To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

6 I2 D* E+ q& H! r( ?This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include: h0 e' Y d+ Z( }
• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;# U% ]/ q1 `! q1 h5 r* ^
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;' E( ^7 Q% Y, M' ^: }
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
+ K& w1 _, V+ C• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include:
; K0 g2 G* y' K% u( S• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
4 X B1 f3 l! P4 J% V$ `8 L F' m• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
- J9 |( F/ e* s, K2 H• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;' a) c/ Q: U% O+ y" h! S
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities$ U) K) N E( \: J7 X8 ]' m& h0 |
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;4 S9 I! b& e0 R& ?) d
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
9 [% p8 v1 j. M9 b0 W. j• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;

Qualifications:9 a$ s0 b* U. p( G9 i8 e5 k
• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
+ ]9 L7 @ F4 d3 M% U( H• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
2 Z8 k D" y% S! {# i• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
; Y) \8 i I. G% u• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;5 \/ L7 k* D" O2 Q) M
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.8 H" `4 A4 V6 k4 J: L x
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
" V& e- \- R3 T% _3 R# [4 m3 |/ Y• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
3 I Y1 U5 M; d- t$ X* E) _- c: Y• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
: D, ~' E& V [: [) A• Current valid drivers license;
& n' l& R* P# J) o6 w7 B3 `8 {• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;4 |% k3 S& m( @6 l+ j7 Z
• Conflict resolution skills;$ b" r3 \+ d, q9 A6 Z+ G3 M
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;0 I! t" d/ G. X6 o
• Committed and passionate about children;

Salary is negotiable and will depend on qualifications and experience.
