Job Purpose:, J1 B2 K# K" @. C b
To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. ( s1 j& x) s e: W7 P

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

( e% W% o; S B& `+ L. v• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;$ N/ |$ M9 K5 j% ~9 X
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
K& V+ s g# J* E u7 A• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
1 Q* o" n9 g' {8 ^! P/ g, ~* Q• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
$ A3 T+ Z; W0 Q, b• Risk Management and succession planning;' k! T9 r! L! q1 E' ^0 s
9 i5 v1 P. e/ N* L- C$ l( uProgram Duties and Responsibilities include:
+ A3 |9 y; J0 P4 v6 |2 `• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
! s! p+ }( J$ ?3 {' H$ ?• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;+ Y9 C/ b+ V3 b; [- G3 X
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
5 B ~+ z+ f: a1 r• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
0 W% ?6 x9 b1 Y) E• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;" l7 F2 I. U2 E
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;' \) y- c, W7 D# R6 _+ v; Z
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;

• Degree in communications, human services or related field;# W3 f3 c. Q) o i& |: M# L
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
+ R2 n( C* Q% d- d8 m5 d• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
: y: W2 [0 [. O: H• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
( G+ a$ Z9 D( R7 @9 \• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.. Y2 w4 F3 z6 \' ?; H6 b
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;8 I5 k! @- u4 s
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
% U n- h p: m- Y7 T3 ?, P• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;6 s' F/ P; z& a5 t; o
• Current valid drivers license;
% a. C, {0 D) W4 l0 }* L• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;3 j U1 H" t0 z+ H0 S; f" k4 j
• Conflict resolution skills;7 z x1 T* |. ^6 B5 Y
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
