Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities

& _5 H: D: r$ a9 _- provide volunteers to update membership database
3 g& ]: z: I" t( m) Q- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers( e1 [1 I* \$ r1 K; M
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties5 ^4 E1 }( k: d" f5 i
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
, F8 {7 T5 E' }: ?7 z9 j U' K0 n- provide volunteers for various programs
* l7 s* b" Y/ I. ]. l- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual1 a2 f! k1 {* j! U, K8 V
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
! @& U* @$ ~& y* w* R- @5 l1 k. |- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
0 v- g" S6 p3 b$ I- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services' T7 B% ?) \ ^! D# x/ z9 ^
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
* N5 o0 D$ O( k7 Y# f- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
5 E9 f1 w% t& F4 b- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
* k" r! ~: H8 U: P9 K- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
5 l7 [& r# Y" V3 t/ C# L8 V3 d- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
& N2 u. u4 _8 Y4 l. ^! ?+ N$ ~- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
% X/ L* U9 P2 F+ f- e+ e" \# n- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers " K. h. d- Z! y( ?. [+ Z
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
4 G4 \# R+ F1 p8 @" t- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

Qualifications# c8 j# b& o8 j% e, m! v# I5 \$ o% z
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education9 L% G5 T4 Q5 u% U4 i) w6 C
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills J. z" D0 I7 _. P6 I# `8 R
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services+ [+ l8 {/ K# E. m' h
- leadership skills
8 n* c$ b0 L% Y- management and supervision skills- R* V9 H) R: _. u: J4 }$ a
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
