Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities
4 q l; D7 p4 D4 O- Q- submit information for community news
3 {( o& u. k& K7 z) E- provide volunteers to update membership database
7 }% e. O, U1 k. L- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
( b9 y) Q' a) r6 w! u. d' o- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
: S9 H" `, ?8 d u( h- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
L: ?2 D5 `: j( L: d; y, z- provide volunteers for various programs ' b" B7 J2 |# u& W5 F
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
5 z, A8 U' X8 s, R4 C+ ~- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation2 b7 Z8 m6 ^6 d, }3 J. [
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
1 y, l: _! Q; ?% L3 h- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
# y3 c7 |3 E) w& X7 h/ ^: T: e& G* x- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
8 m/ R/ K1 l9 j5 H q8 X& q- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed$ G) I6 P& L% F7 u6 ]# Q1 g3 _
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed% j6 T4 ?& A1 o0 w c, F- B
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
# o' U3 a' G1 W; h- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
* Z% S7 E4 f! a1 W6 K- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
' W" l9 v# J' h' A7 g r- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers , c2 d0 Q4 n# X0 K# T
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers " I) Y8 J8 N4 M" f7 P: Z
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis
& C! o9 U; q( W0 b+ O8 {, O- evaluations

Qualifications
$ N9 \% s" X( S4 K& V0 d- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
$ m' ~) d9 g0 g0 F, q- good oral and written Chinese and English skills' D: [4 S$ `' _% B3 l
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services: X% s% ?# m" k7 a M7 `$ g: V
- leadership skills$ l& ?& f1 c+ I& y. \
- management and supervision skills
' ?; b' L' l; l# X: {- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
