Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities, E y% c4 l! E" T
- submit information for community news
4 `# l# X+ T- ~2 G, K1 w- provide volunteers to update membership database9 ?7 a @6 \6 r% b4 }. z
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers5 E9 c7 Z4 F) h3 R
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties3 U0 a: n+ ` E/ m6 C! G: {
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
& ]7 R4 c( Q( C' q5 J- provide volunteers for various programs 5 v3 |- w8 L7 G. l; `; m
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
# O$ b, i1 r/ T5 d& c- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
# d- J1 v% n+ D# i& m- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities# m" a( |' V( J3 N- M/ ?! q
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services& }$ V! A9 R' \; G$ T- L
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
1 h2 \8 k" P2 n- v- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed6 ]1 c% N8 M/ w
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
' R6 \; u* D- l2 B- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)) F) q+ _/ }" T6 O
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events

/ Y- q5 b2 \, q5 [6 i- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers

' R" O6 }# T0 X/ U- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

Qualifications
) I# H' t% E4 V7 b! Z7 M2 ]/ ^- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education3 O# }( l& O, Y" [8 W; @. ^. H
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
1 _: E- j& M1 M1 ^% ^; ]8 N- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
1 _* a" H$ X6 S( p% a0 n8 `- leadership skills
: K7 i$ I% Y* ^3 H0 Y) \6 }) v- management and supervision skills
) L/ c( E/ a+ w6 {- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills3 b z* W; }6 |1 f2 @- T
