Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

1 \+ R8 U4 m1 T0 a2 ]- provide volunteers to update membership database
4 H ^: Y6 C1 g! Y! X- E% Y7 O2 f- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers4 ~0 s% w! U0 {! z& P8 b3 ~
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties; ?4 k0 q9 u. [- J3 t b
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties. }1 F: G! A& Z- C( [' T# N
- provide volunteers for various programs
! c" M% Z, X5 C/ M3 w' U# L& R ]- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual* L2 ?) t6 U4 G6 Z$ Q! x
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation3 x0 y' B0 s& ^' Q+ s% C
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities f9 _+ w/ ~, J& |& L
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
f, l& y& F+ B* d2 q$ m- v- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports/ ~, x' b2 H1 [; o" o
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
# L: I. E+ x; o& a- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed. Z% {1 G2 q% u( o3 S7 }
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)5 `& B0 n+ R) l
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events * n* L7 {9 l0 E, F
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual " Z$ ~+ u; H4 z! T; h J
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers # W8 q+ z5 Z M9 N# e0 B
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
, D$ N4 | J% f. i7 W1 d- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

Qualifications$ l( F; k. O, M/ H: L
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education0 s1 j9 h4 t) ?: v
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
2 F3 u, J0 {6 N N, L& i Y' ^: ^- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services. v; Z, _1 g! S' q6 {
- leadership skills
) j. C+ c+ }' A7 R- management and supervision skills
