Key Responsibilities
% ^# w1 w4 x0 _- submit information for community news
& x# [/ v% Y- F! B5 _) w! @- provide volunteers to update membership database: N- d+ ^+ |' q( Z
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
! Q7 w1 }& q' y- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties+ ?6 A; [) b6 c# c$ O7 b( C+ Z
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties7 K Z9 s$ {+ r4 l; B
- provide volunteers for various programs
; v3 @3 A% _ C1 t" o# k4 e- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
* |* T& c8 S. s: _% s( j- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
2 s, P2 a" [1 w7 H8 M2 r& L) ?8 x- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
3 D8 J8 V F$ C# d- {2 X* z B0 {- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services

( L; S, F# ?8 p7 |. U) v9 |- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
3 o+ k n* c6 I4 N7 i2 G5 }2 Q- g- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events % o5 O P+ X# [# q
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
, f+ S& `2 E0 }1 N# I! G J- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
4 H1 V& ^+ N6 |% l( r/ Q* o4 x3 K5 D- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers ) ?. I3 a+ V- L9 A5 ~
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis 2 Z& a$ m+ G# R P6 q G
- evaluations

Qualifications
- g3 }. b+ ~7 F- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education$ |8 K) z. C- S/ w8 @3 x' M6 J
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
0 e3 U* |. s$ K( N; y* e" S- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
7 c$ y! Y% {8 I, L( J% W- leadership skills3 |' l2 [3 B! {+ A( Z
- management and supervision skills$ R4 f9 t- ]1 w2 U E
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills% n5 H& \; U4 h2 Q* q+ A; ]; ?8 @. E
