Position Title: Community Development Worker

& _% S4 Q" s- J& e- q, S3 g' T- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
* ~7 k9 B- _0 b8 J" e$ k- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services( b" \% A7 E m2 p# L6 l
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services2 e# A/ c9 A. L$ _5 N/ ?
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies6 B% \5 b; A$ D: \
- coordinate good will activities
7 w6 ]) {0 }' i, R% }! n! c9 a- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members
/ B; i+ }, P/ w9 D' ~+ m- submit information for community news - [9 ^8 M2 V9 J8 ^6 V
- prepare and send AGM information to members
/ a. f( Y1 n6 o' Z! J' f- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.2 E- `! {3 D& m3 K2 Y" S6 W3 ?
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities0 ]. B9 E7 o* u7 B" \7 ~
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
8 r$ Z/ {7 r6 ]' ?1 n# _- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
* F8 }. I# F& B3 B% h- assist in writing proposal for ISP
9 ~# {" }5 e' h1 ]- write quarterly and final reports for ISP
+ Q0 F T. C2 h: p5 j$ {/ b% g- explore new ideas for ISP
3 @' z" N% \3 o4 G- hold regular meetings with ISP team
5 m6 \. g4 n Q6 r8 d& u- ]8 d- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time$ x K6 Z! u4 v4 x6 f- z4 {

- coordinate good will activities: m+ r% ]- ^) q' p: A# N* u% C! I8 u
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)$ C# N- V% H2 o
- report to Settlement Services Manager* J% r# W" F$ r& `4 r8 o% P: s

Qualifications- M/ K+ y4 _* R: X1 u* o" _
- degree in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education 8 u% K% h7 a1 z: L$ v
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills+ q6 o' m9 w l; a/ V
- experience in community work and immigrant services1 K2 x' \5 h: t" I% H8 K
- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars, \8 n7 L: z; s! H
- leadership skills3 j' s/ v. |3 E) F
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
