Position Title: Community Development Worker
8 E' f+ G0 G1 O& KHours of Work: 17.5 hours per week8 p1 l: r: M8 V6 e
Key Responsibilities
# I6 u% ^0 n% p+ h* F7 z5 \$ F-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community1 m# M: I. T8 }* n% k  ~
-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services4 Q' B! t+ k: s' e- `  \* i5 O) `7 d
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services0 ?( y: O; h! ?, m, v3 ~
-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies9 v- V/ p: K, |
-        coordinate good will activities, V, }' T& |  k! Y
-        coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members" E8 X. ]3 _/ W1 j7 R
-        submit information for community news
* }2 m. ?8 g( @9 R3 s3 |-        prepare and send AGM information to members
! c$ @% q& a7 f-        assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.& h! O7 J1 U$ z4 _. B
-        participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities6 Z; W# a; |# k$ D( V# k
-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
* m; {. P: U/ s* `-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services1 _5 R# K; v& R) j/ ]$ K! e
-        assist in writing proposal for ISP* T$ z+ S; q4 j5 T
-        write quarterly and final reports for ISP
7 A$ }+ U9 m( f4 J; D9 m% a-        explore new ideas for ISP
# L7 X+ O( f& u& B6 Z3 b6 H-        hold regular meetings with ISP team
9 S2 c; h/ g3 f4 Q. [-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
) H8 o4 }9 e+ G7 {-        update membership database
8 u3 Y! U' I! |6 `1 D+ O-        coordinate good will activities9 V$ E' v3 ^; v' @5 R5 n; n
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)! p. ^6 v7 T& ?9 Q2 }1 E  a
-        report to Settlement Services Manager# J2 x1 R% ]% G4 x2 h: z+ z- t, L5 G7 O

& E; r# ]$ X& \9 i+ B! b- ]Qualifications
1 a) @; r* ~; Y4 s# w8 ^8 m$ Y-        degree in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
3 t  N4 f& ^- @! Q- ^-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills: S: r& `3 i' V1 s5 Y
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
9 X: ]* t' j# z% r8 Z-        ability to coordinate workshops and seminars
5 D$ F: ~3 F' G+ t-        leadership skills
7 j& h, L/ H$ B9 ^0 F-        exceptional communication, interpersonal skills: ?1 T8 y1 q. e7 C9 ~: Y# k0 N
-        sense of humor
