Position Title: Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker

Position Summary:
. c5 _2 u0 L7 \) \2 R0 J Y" ]! HWithin the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

Key Responsibilities:$ \7 _* t- I+ d* Q$ ?
• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
. t3 O& F! s" l; Q8 y. S• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
. _2 d1 y. f" g- h" q2 Q3 Z# y• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately& ?% H! F9 Y+ u% ]& X: j' ~
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
4 d7 D2 [& f! q- f, U• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents1 ~4 t }* o% q! b" z* q! x d$ B
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker5 e0 b# r! q1 h" Q9 z' T5 Q& V
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events
+ r' s1 n7 `! Z- z1 V! V$ T; d! y• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events2 a f: X } m& ~8 @# I
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean
$ i+ I* X9 b, G• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters

• Perform general office duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
1 I! {8 s8 N- W, \! n, c; N• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person$ h s$ ?5 T* C. z
• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
. P! m" n5 p I3 M# @• Good English writing and oral communication skills
5 n6 ^- C X) Y2 i) H6 K• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients' M# G3 }) Z9 n( z: O
• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook- d: H' p$ i- a. t- ?3 x+ u3 n; K
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately & \- p; g* P5 j# C8 R
• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds( U2 d/ S% x- y4 ?* M" u
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment+ @. W+ v$ R5 S. g+ A# n) U& q
• Knowledge of immigrant services( h8 ], A& N6 x+ E; S9 r

: g( h2 U* S' f2 ?• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience " j: c( E j; `' B: h, i9 B6 f3 a
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
! Z- v! T7 c8 q; z: n/ x8 Z• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
: i2 N6 c2 f8 V5 p& N• Ability to work well under minimal supervision1 h" e- t7 x* h
