Hours of Work: Part-time (21 hours per week)

Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
, o8 y; @# ?3 O- Q/ {• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
7 |/ h7 w, F+ m2 V8 r! d• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
: y( w- T, x& U8 m. \8 O6 [% O6 \• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
) ]5 @% {% p2 `( e4 z2 p• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents0 L( E6 X' ?0 X3 X" d6 ^$ m) K
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker1 ^! I- O. e1 }) t% E: k P
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events
* U) G" `# m3 \) s7 V9 c; K• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events
; t0 T, q, ]( i3 y# h$ M7 o• Keep the reception area tidy and clean) P+ ?. a5 d2 k7 t o8 w
• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters

• Perform general office duties as assigned# l7 A' {% j! ?% F7 j
• Report to ISP Program Manager

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:4 i5 T3 b2 j8 g& n5 [" r2 ^8 P
• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person! h- X& A; z4 E) K: y
• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
$ i! C. V: J5 p, t- C/ w• Good English writing and oral communication skills
+ X- J6 Q! H+ H3 b3 ~. r• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients5 f1 i; ]- e$ B a6 s ^
• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook2 {& G: C3 x' H4 J
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately 9 I) W- j4 a! I0 p" Q6 @( n* J
• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds+ b2 E8 {0 @) r- p4 l" f9 c
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment5 i3 H) D0 K3 l& R# k( T
• Knowledge of immigrant services

Qualifications:& |0 `0 S D* }8 h5 S
• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience
0 ?6 `/ U2 H! z/ b" g S6 t9 F• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
4 k: Z- {* X. N( t) g% R+ {! K) {• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
3 O$ d7 O7 u, p! J# Q• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
