Position Title: Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker

Position Summary:
( K0 q+ q- M' n t! SWithin the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker. 5 u" z( ?- d* L q/ J% }

' q' o# m& Y$ D4 {: E• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
9 Y5 Q5 V8 z& D" K+ i- Y* E• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST; k0 [0 X# o% j8 X6 q8 M( \- k7 @
• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
. {3 G& v& |' A! V• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter% w" S" N% f. ^* Y1 I
• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents
# G' Z/ L0 k" [* {+ K k• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker
/ P+ r; f; ~# T. S9 n• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events

• Keep the reception area tidy and clean# o: s/ V9 W3 Q9 Y
• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters

• Report to ISP Program Manager

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:' a2 G% _; n6 w; U% u0 ~
• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
$ M& S3 ~* P( B# j% b• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset7 B; D# ~4 C4 l- m5 j- q
• Good English writing and oral communication skills, y$ f- F& Y! h9 c0 w! I2 j
• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients, Y( b6 _5 s* `; c; ~. }
• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook" s! }: o! M, [1 B# X( |. k. L
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately
# n. _, z" ` D& E- P• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds4 V' _- j& ?$ w/ U- n6 v) x+ A [& X
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment

Qualifications:
6 C( W8 Y/ L+ H• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience
8 V: B" u* W, L• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
' X7 M, Q4 [1 I5 Y" ^2 A• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
+ a4 n- r# K6 k& m+ q5 z/ o• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
