megapixels, the D800 produces unprecedented image quality and resolution

matrix metering III, wide dynamic range and the improved AF performance
3 R- n/ t6 z- W6 n! t8 qin low light are just a few features that are glaring improvements. The D800
! I w* B0 c/ a) D6 d& _2 Z7 X" yallows me to concentrate on the light, the composition and my subject s! X6 ?: H% l3 l! C1 S0 Z
without having to think about much else. In years past, wedding photography

before, and my style of shooting will be enhanced rather than compromised,

When I’m shooting beauty and jewelry in the studio or fashion on location,4 }! C* W d* A6 F2 z# S6 A
36.3 megapixels changes the industry standard: in image quality, dynamic
0 T) W; K) _* T2 r/ z9 h% Jrange, color rendering and the final print. The detail from the D800 produces

has noticeable improvements in metering accuracy, while the larger LCD is
8 X! M' K( S p+ J2 t0 M9 a1 seasier to read. The camera body feels solid and ergonomically simple, while
! ]/ V* ^5 s) |8 V4 balso feeling lighter and smaller than previous high-resolution Nikons. New( @4 u8 K2 j7 v3 A2 |* N8 Y
cameras always inspire me to test and explore, and all the useful features
' A N. O h, H6 z/ K7 h6 }# p+ [) Gin such a compact package will open huge creative possibilities for my highquality

To me, cameras are more like paintbrushes than technology. The goal is
! [1 _9 Y. u- n# s- I% s' X, w }not megapixels or technique but the image, and while camera models4 n7 r4 c! @8 r) o
are important, they are not the be-all or end-all. But after a lifetime using
2 Z2 R1 ?# `0 K5 |6 {! tcountless cameras, I have found a new best friend. It was not love at first
* {/ j, ^7 `% V$ ssight. The sharpness and detail were initially intimidating, exposing my flaws; s7 j* d4 q$ A# {: |2 H0 s- x" H% B
like never before. Subtle camera movements showed and differences of
" U" |' J2 _) P ^; a4 macuity between aperture choices on various lenses were apparent. But now I
' B: K+ ]) u; ]am enthralled with this technology. Why? Because the images almost feel as
, {/ `' F: c O: `) }# xthough they were made with a 4x5 view camera! Special features like timelapse
$ B/ e8 H. L# D- q: a; ~photography and the improved HD video quality and flexibility also add9 \2 q5 U+ g0 g; E1 ?; S6 Y
tremendously to the camera’s personality. After spending a month with the& @4 U# l! t4 Y
D800, I’ll never be the same again. Perhaps the best compliment I can express

As a modern architectural photographer I am always looking for a lightweight,+ S4 b0 V5 f/ m$ {7 f5 _8 w
compact and reliable camera system fulfilling the requirements of my personal

architectural photography. From my hands-on experience I found that they
