  d& v) w. U) b2 |: g0 dIn general, key aspects of the role are:
-        Help define technical architecture and develop strategies for incorporating new
technology;
+ D- _2 F. n, Z: u; s( q-        Identify where new technology can be used to meet business needs;
-        Review requirement and design documents to ensure follow department standards;
-        Participate in peer reviews;
-        Create and Maintain technical documentation;
& t, E  S$ Q$ b* n-        Programming planned enhancements;
. q, Y2 q, F- K-        Testing system changes;
-        Ensuring changes to the application meet the department standards and follow the
department’s change management processes;
-        Providing Microsoft SQL database support for improving application performance;
-        Very good technical skills to respond to problems from other developers;
9 o# u! M; e8 R2 b; ]/ `5 b-        Providing on call support after regular business hours as required;
$ Q7 _, E: o( z+ D-        Lead short term projects;
-        Effective presentation skills are required to communicate solutions;
-        Excellent written communication skills;
& v0 m5 }; ?# E, b-        Knowledge of the Systems Development methodology is required to ensure
4 d0 J! c, g) y- x+ Veffective delivery of service; and
-        Understanding of project management.

A. Mandatory Requirements
! B9 n$ S# Q) \9 r' s& T(a) Experience defining technical architecture and developing strategies
for incorporating new technology.
) t, B" e# v  |6 \1 t
(b)        Experience developing multi-user/ n-tier/ Object Oriented applications using C#.net. (Maximum of two years of VB.net or JAVA experience will be considered as equivalent)

" {* @/ j# N6 ~4 g(c)        Experience developing SQL objects for an MS SQL Server. (Maximum of two years of Oracle experience will be considered as equivalent).

# a9 n5 s( v+ n$ i(d) Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation with formal change management procedures.

' k" J! s0 w; D9 |(e) Experience working in an environment with a team of 3 or more developers

(f) Experience reviewing Requirement and Design documentation for quality to ensure application standards are being met. Creating and working with design documents/user requirements (software artifacts).

B. Desirable Requirements
" z5 t* Y# D# h, a6 v(g) Project experience with formal development methodology.

6 o) o6 m4 R) v. t! q; Z7 R" {(h) Experience with one or more of the following tools:
- Infragistics controls
! K( i( h8 b9 ^8 |4 X- IBatis.NET, or MyBatis.NET
- Nunit
- Crystal Reports
- Pdflib
- Microsoft Project Portfolio Server

1 [; O+ \) @* E9 H(i)        A minimum of 6 years combined related experience and education as stated below. Additional education and\or experience is preferred. Combined education and experience:
- A related University degree and 2 years experience; or
- A related two year diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution and 4 years experience; or
- A related one year certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution and 5 years experience.
