if you want a very high clarity and colour, then $10K CAD may only get you a 0.5 ct diamond if you don't care as much about colour and clarity, then you can easily get a 1.0 ct or bigger ring. typically, girls care more about the clarity and size. / Z1 _6 n& |" v7 j5 \

the solitary princess diamond is the most popular style for an engagement ring. solitaty means a single large diamond (not a whole bunch of small diamonds or dusts but with the total weight added to a 1.0 ct) and princess means it's cut into a round shape on top (not square or oval shape)% {% ?( T% [/ o& R) T& v
0 s; q( _9 s0 t" N" X( |the band (ring itself) can be found in white gold 14K or 18K. typically, the better the diamond, the better band it comes with. ie <$5000 ring usually comes with a 14K band but >$5000 ring will come with a 18K band.
