if you want a very high clarity and colour, then $10K CAD may only get you a 0.5 ct diamond if you don't care as much about colour and clarity, then you can easily get a 1.0 ct or bigger ring. typically, girls care more about the clarity and size. 3 H/ M( [! H4 c* ], Y+ d+ q' {2 v

the solitary princess diamond is the most popular style for an engagement ring. solitaty means a single large diamond (not a whole bunch of small diamonds or dusts but with the total weight added to a 1.0 ct) and princess means it's cut into a round shape on top (not square or oval shape)

7 M& y. v9 d' J! B, Athe band (ring itself) can be found in white gold 14K or 18K. typically, the better the diamond, the better band it comes with. ie <$5000 ring usually comes with a 14K band but >$5000 ring will come with a 18K band. : \ ]1 d1 ^( O) `5 E) f. ~
