• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed* @; x9 K4 @9 K" z2 f: |
• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
# M' E S# w: q3 A+ W2 |8 [9 B• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers# T9 P. w4 l& n: A! w: i w
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams2 M: b: r3 c& |1 A# t
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place1 ^/ F4 i B/ Q7 ~; t
• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment
4 T7 w1 Y4 I2 o; D# q• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools- N2 O- O8 h2 [# d+ t
• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting6 m; C& m% E! m, |$ D" }
• Mix paint, blend and match colors
6 i `" @8 u% z4 _9 Z0 B• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns
* Y7 t& _/ H( Z( g• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs+ L0 ~* }# x5 c' S3 r3 ]
• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation# L$ m0 y# k; w# L
• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling0 w4 u) \7 w% B5 W0 T7 D6 M
Education and Experience Requirements:6 \8 l2 z5 S4 e' j( E, c2 }
• Completion of secondary school is required
7 w- c3 e) O$ K# }4 L• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program 7 y3 ?4 h; M* X) w" v; W
or$ P, Q0 k8 B& T6 w; E+ A
A combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade
