Job Description:* ?' f9 @- I" x l2 r7 {- w
• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
* b$ O" b8 T* G# V+ q- I' f• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components9 o' }* S7 q' F# i
• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers8 L& s) L' D: M$ \# U
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams
. \) H; h: e/ D% U; u3 F• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
7 D/ e) k+ u6 L4 B. C6 H, e* C7 E3 j• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment* g1 ^* T9 h- a$ r/ {# B6 u
• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools0 K* d# R* V3 h/ c& \. K3 r8 U
• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
+ P- h5 ]% s- X6 n• Mix paint, blend and match colors" {$ U" S# N, i
• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns' K; }7 [" u! `! h% m6 N2 t {* w
• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs
( r- e: ]: v7 X, E4 h+ U; p. m Y7 c• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation
! {- x9 Z5 \) F' V! h• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling

o2 p3 O0 u; |/ y: {% K8 F9 [• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program
