Position Title:  Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker! p, s1 |6 C, x* D8 K6 F1 R
Hours of Work: Part-time (10 hours per week)

1 {' ?% N$ E, O8 ~+ EPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

Key Responsibilities:( H# `# b/ A5 ?2 G
•        Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person' J6 ?4 W4 T' Z0 g  o6 ]
•        Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST. h& ]% t7 W' |) Q+ M! N7 [/ t. b
•        Welcome clients and direct them appropriately: Z# T2 A  M. M) l* O* X1 U
•        Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter0 `8 f" j9 W0 c
•        Oversee the front counter when other front counter staff are on holiday or in trainings
0 r& A! V! j, ^- j1 n% _- s, m( H•        Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents9 F  u- z7 W* U0 p
•        Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker
. B9 S$ Q6 ^  J# ~/ G3 e  ~•        Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events
4 o3 }: I- ]& i; I•        Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events

; B! j/ M1 s, @- I; U1 I1 K9 B  ?. T•        Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters

  i9 F% E6 |0 j) K* l+ x9 z•        Perform general office duties as assigned& Y+ G" C& S& J, v+ H
•        Report to ISP Program Manager

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:: }0 P/ c, i6 H/ {1 U
•        Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person8 U: u1 r" x+ \$ E# H* k/ S
•        Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
2 [7 w  p/ e! U6 [. M% M2 E•        Good English writing and oral communication skills
" B  a! e7 h: D: ]& s7 h$ w+ F•        Ability to work with newcomers and general clients7 G) k3 X& A' W' h5 B
•        Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook
* k+ ?  ^: m- @( b" d•        Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately ! w+ Q) f$ Q8 N% d8 y
•        Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds- H$ T# I4 y/ ^  N
•        Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment
2 L; a1 r7 e; F# v" ]; _•        Knowledge of immigrant services
1 `4 |! f2 i. B  m9 a( I; [4 G& g* u" oQualifications:; U& n+ f: S$ t7 r$ y$ b$ I. ?" B' u
•        2-4 years of office and clerical experience
) M; D6 R+ V/ o•        Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
' _% E  R6 M0 h( N7 V& j' o•        Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
% G1 ~$ E: Q* t3 c8 y! H. j3 ~•        Ability to work well under minimal supervision
) I2 G" \; b4 A% ^3 q5 X* u8 l% o' v/ U  _
