YWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties. 9 d# r8 J$ E- T4 j# a) ^- t' K
Job Responsibilities:

Payroll:" `/ v4 F' S! q* K7 q) s7 u
• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired4 i ^0 n0 V ?% |* F
• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll8 t0 P+ G/ i* @1 L. r
• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records
0 j% v4 W* d% C4 o' n• Input benefit deductions into payroll2 W! i8 K& r* L6 a3 ?7 s6 g
7 C& g3 T' v& \2 w; g1 f2 f5 ?( {Reporting duties:' V( P$ I8 y: A2 ]7 n6 \
• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider6 I" u$ W7 ~9 l3 l1 ?: X
• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website2 T0 m' o* n# m; c7 g
• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s( k* \# H5 i$ J8 {; M2 y7 S) G! Y
• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority

Compliance:
' _) ?2 e& A* u1 t* I! d• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll 3 X1 ^7 q! F! R* Q
• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.
/ H( `" E1 _' }8 c• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies2 U `8 E. q# j5 l. _4 O) d
• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting

Accounts Receivable:
9 u7 N/ G/ L0 o# I, x. L+ ?• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit) M$ B- ^; k2 Z9 ^2 y6 H5 u
• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department
. R5 w ?! {8 }• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments
7 j& j% s+ `3 G• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing4 R6 d3 x& @$ q9 J
0 ~( E" N" Q9 d5 a+ IQualifications:
7 \$ i% d; z5 i' ?! L% T8 Y2 ]! I3 t8 y
• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP
5 R7 c6 H. U: a3 U9 e• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association
1 r# E# }) N+ u4 s+ b. y• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position+ S& F# \7 D8 j3 n
• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office% \" h# s, i$ h* T- c
• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work. R/ N7 Z, v0 E$ W- S# B9 T' {2 N
• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure0 `9 n/ H' a' e7 q4 j4 Z. ]& |
• Knowledge and experience of cash handling procedures
