YOUCAN is an acronym that stands for Youth Organizing to Understand Conflict and
Advocate Non-Violence. YOUCAN has served youth in the Edmonton area for the past
2 \' P7 N/ [9 c5 ]nine years and our mission is to equip youth to engage and inspire others to
  Q, z& f, j2 x+ A4 vpeacefully resolve conflicts and develop healthy relationships in their communities.
The YOUCAN VERTO Project is a Government of Canada and Government of Albertafunded

project that will bring at-risk youth together into a unique 15 -week groupbased
employability skills program entitled “The VERTO Project”.
5 [9 A& n$ z: _) AThe goal of the VERTO Program is to assist participants in obtaining and maintaining
the skills necessary to bring success into their lives. Verto program will expose
participants to a wide range of components focusing on: employment development,
, k& w# H+ y0 l' Y1 V  k1 H7 r5 |personal wellness, technology learning, conflict resolution, and exposure courses.
6 q+ J# C/ ^) i+ H+ j5 @Additionally, we will incorporate topics around health and wellness, volunteerism,
and leadership courses. Verto youth will be provided with a six-month employment
8 e1 }5 V9 t9 Y1 o+ P$ kfollow-up once the program is completed.

Verto project will run from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at the
YOUCAN office, located at 11124-130 St. (Westmount Jr. High School) in Edmonton, Alberta.
