T.A.N.G. Youth Program is an educational and activity-based program aiming to equip
" [; Y$ v" J7 ~ K: iAsian youth to make healthy and safe choice. Recreational challenges, volunteering
+ P3 D! k$ y. f: M" B, iopportunities, leadership training, as well as educational sessions on $ B3 {3 E3 k* B0 V7 e: g, ~
interpersonal skills, anger management, personal development,

What will take place in the sessions?
* Q9 U+ M% T: ]6 {$ BEach session presents concepts through interactive activities that encourage active discussion and participation.# g1 E9 R8 b) [

 Explore personal interests in arts and recreation5 e$ ]5 \8 M, Y V2 Y! L
 Learn how to access community services and programs8 U4 J4 K3 @/ p/ w3 P. T
 Develop self-confidence and problem solving skills

Regular Spring and Fall Group Sessions: runs on alternate Saturday afternoon from 2 to 5 p.m.5 |1 V: V- L( Q& }
Summer Group Sessions: 2 consecutive weeks in July from 9 to 5 p.m. daily
* W$ I5 o. a* r2 T' t6 \' ` 2 consecutive weeks in August from 9 to 5 p.m. daily$ [+ I2 U4 A( n, J" z

Who can participate?0 b' c& X V5 Y% m/ R
Asian youth aged 11 to 15, who are new immigrants or locally born Asian living in Edmonton or surrounding area.

' h' g6 A* f$ nWhat is the cost of joining the T.A.N.G. program?4 w. b1 c4 m' L% H9 C# O) _! K
It is FREE and space is limited to 15 to 20 participants per group., c* S. l; @& ^4 m+ S1 C4 _5 s2 F

1 E& d _0 ]! e; r2 f Distribute promotional flyers to schools, churches, communities and social services agencies
0 R3 X# Z) j/ W/ C( V1 t( R Facilitate and/or coordinate activity-based function such as to host a gym day or sport tournaments or workshop on personal growth development
! ^ o& F$ {. \" T$ H Facilitate or assist in ice-breakers and/or other activities9 h' S; ~/ \# o* f' R. \0 D
 Facilitate or assist in small group discussions; j. i {- A( R- u9 s+ X
 Research activities related to the sessions’ topic
( u) ^7 o+ I/ _! W Enforce safety rules during program sessions and fieldtrips

 Be a role model

 On-going volunteers (we have volunteers dedicated themselves to the program for almost 4 years)
( g# o2 W7 K) g# j4 ^& W! H+ a One time volunteers: minimum commitment is one seasonal session, i.e. 8 – 10 sessions in Spring, Fall or Summer

 Able to work independently with minimum supervision
