m9 g1 f) y$ d+ Z, uSEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada. / T2 i. R& |5 ?0 u; Z* b$ x6 `
SEDI is staffed to:
7 u! A5 e5 J" c1 R. ]. e! ]• conduct socio-economic market and policy research , q' H' z: i/ `8 E/ Y5 _
• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners
0 Q, t$ a$ _! E* a• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
2 t+ T+ d o( O' y• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs & }2 r) I" }* v# _; M, ^
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits
' b" A5 S- F1 A" W6 [• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses
3 r* K6 ]2 H1 ?- S) l% R• to work to reduce economic vulnerability in Canada
& r! @, k# [! N7 n+ BPrimary Responsibilities and Activities: 1 j7 ?! @$ t! _1 f, T
• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada
8 O4 r# e6 Z3 S# h* m( F• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) 1 _! a# Y6 N3 C% ? M( D
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required 3 F+ t: @& n: D
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities
' f& M- p, r+ ^; x7 D$ `( J• Working with evaluation and management information systems team + ? z+ |, J' t o6 L
• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required * Z2 n9 {) T7 U
Other Activities:
+ w& n4 P& b/ b2 j4 `$ P• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies
# n0 F" W2 _" W7 Y: F. `- ^• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
5 i% l2 @3 O, d8 i6 c) G• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting , |" A1 d m" u
• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports 5 D7 j+ [+ O) Q3 ^9 O) q% e
• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning % ?$ |3 Y7 ^7 L7 s7 ^7 r' ?
Primary Qualifications: 4 S" j. L+ a& ]& t# p5 E
• Demonstrated group facilitation experience , l. G0 R6 d R6 ` N0 I: R3 j3 i
• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media 3 b: q& |; O5 H" R
• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training 8 B+ E% m: `8 R9 O# S
• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities
% l% h& p$ [% ~/ [0 J0 C3 a- _• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams
) p; E! g3 }$ o# I3 ]: i. n• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals

• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc 6 q4 p& Z$ y& M7 @7 D9 u& |
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education

• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc. % [$ l2 R8 c7 \/ S9 t8 C+ r
• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset
