In 2008, SEDI founded the Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) which is a national network dedicated to supporting financial literacy capacity building and knowledge mobilization. It acts as a national ‘hub’ for financial literacy in Canada.& u; L( [0 Q! R$ K2 K5 Y F" c

SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada. k8 ^* b, R$ A
SEDI is staffed to: & O4 U1 a/ h- k
• conduct socio-economic market and policy research
2 p% K' _8 k5 i9 [/ U5 F2 V% i• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners 6 C/ |. ~3 M9 U# w% D
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
7 e" ] Y1 `: P. }• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs " D- V; _, a/ ]4 G& \2 M
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits
5 V D* S: [) w• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses

Primary Responsibilities and Activities:
; l. A7 c( F% o6 w7 N• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada 0 J# _( f4 Y1 N
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) : m1 X- T! }( w# I7 a
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required
- z6 Z- I& c! ]• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities ; i( a0 z. E8 j. r2 x H b
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team : [- U1 O6 b4 S- w9 a6 Q
• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required

• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies 5 T* G$ a* M( F6 F( J
• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
$ A4 I0 u, d# R• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting
* y9 b- d. \7 M+ I6 }• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports

• Demonstrated group facilitation experience 2 c7 n: e) ?5 a
• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
* W5 j3 N" C: h• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training : s5 `( s1 ?2 \! k+ [$ w$ T( e
• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities
: g" S- Q2 F6 t8 A+ |/ t• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams 9 ^7 y) d* V* o$ y0 z5 K
• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals

• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them ! o3 t4 L4 _4 | I2 }& o
• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc

• Excellent organizational skills 0 j& ?' i. [ }1 Z
• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc. , U/ o8 }1 U6 T) d2 h# ]2 {% K5 f' S
• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset
