In 2008, SEDI founded the Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) which is a national network dedicated to supporting financial literacy capacity building and knowledge mobilization. It acts as a national ‘hub’ for financial literacy in Canada.

SEDI is staffed to:
/ d6 C" ]6 b' R/ N; u• conduct socio-economic market and policy research
* Z; w- S# \; _6 b• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners 5 l5 C3 N6 D; V2 W
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
5 ^2 F/ \. j9 p( D* Q$ t% O. R8 N1 R8 ]• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs 7 v0 G' W& n2 k1 l# y. k
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits 6 ^+ V2 ?& S; L0 G
• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses

Primary Responsibilities and Activities:
* I! |, e1 A: E& i$ e7 g• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada
% B; t, n7 B5 v, ?• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) * {$ V7 U: x, ]" H& z+ ~2 w
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required 7 K6 e. u8 X) v3 j3 \# I" i6 ~
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities
/ o J- V/ E0 n+ E( W• Working with evaluation and management information systems team t+ g2 Z! t5 A( D0 r! N
• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required

+ \- y* }9 n) C3 |0 v• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies 2 b. e' ?* U; a* g8 h1 [$ u
• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners 4 F/ T d, [5 \! j/ O0 B
• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting
" C; Q9 V% S) k( t7 ]* L• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports
7 e6 A% @) f& d' C- Y• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning

• Demonstrated group facilitation experience * f; e/ y8 e2 M: y
• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
: q$ G% K0 M7 T2 A' Y: \• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training 2 Z' Y( S" p4 U; g
• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities
3 v, s4 H/ n ], d0 t* Q• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams , y3 X5 `$ U# L: w. f
• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals

• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them + Q6 N3 I* {" o6 N5 ]; B
• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc : ]$ K7 D9 O3 ]3 T+ M
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education

* F& A6 n* T! r& @) ?, F' S• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners

• Policy research skill set is an asset
