SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada. % C0 w) U8 N- f+ J( f
SEDI is staffed to:
2 w2 ]0 Y6 k7 K: t: j- O: Y• conduct socio-economic market and policy research 3 O$ l) t( n) P+ k; ?, M* o; B
• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners
$ c0 _; a( W1 C% `$ o4 R+ b$ a• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
% s+ f* S9 n( d! v# ?• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs , V8 A6 c: ~" i- S
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits
: }' ?& D4 e' _5 b# g- C- B8 M3 q• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses

Primary Responsibilities and Activities: 2 O* Q* a( [5 |
• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada
q+ F4 N9 [5 `! a3 }$ E; Z• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) Z2 P0 Y J4 d6 B+ { c
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required , r; ], M5 E, x2 G* v8 ~% s0 M1 Y' m
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities . j: ~" n$ V: E7 Z7 m+ \4 K2 h3 \
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team
/ g7 k" {2 Y" G• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required 2 G* F( m1 `$ \* f$ q
Other Activities:
# U2 H0 }& k8 R0 h, V. c• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies
" X4 S: |' N# U9 i6 F9 U1 k! M• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
1 @! F- g2 n# I. g5 c/ G• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting
/ k% ^* ?" U( _2 w1 y• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports ) k; d' G; n/ E3 ~( N1 U4 N0 ^
• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning

( K0 V( I( d' V7 X• Demonstrated group facilitation experience 0 n: s) I- [2 `! @& v& s
• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media : @# W6 U, ?/ ^3 m! x) g
• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training , F( k3 t) K: }7 v' U3 S
• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities
+ z+ w1 ] i" B1 Q4 a2 b• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams
|/ d9 M H' c2 d& N0 Q% E$ f/ E' H• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals 8 I8 \/ i( J2 O) x
• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts
8 Z9 M$ O8 z. A9 }5 g0 k* j* O( i• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them 4 Y5 s9 T5 Z4 g3 i
• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc , z9 S6 ~- W2 a
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education
, G0 x8 Q! U# x( W• Content / curriculum development experience
* r- w4 T) f+ `) c6 }. W# b• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners

• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc. - C6 _) P* x2 z7 m+ V0 c7 E; x7 G
• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset
