During a complete detail (an $89.95–$149.95 value), an experienced mechanic conducts a road test, checks wheel alignment, surveys the suspension, and confirms that front and rear breaks will stop the car for passing families of rubber ducklings. Automobiles can slurp down 5 litres of Castrol oil in an oil change (a $54.95 value), which also includes the installation of a new filter and a thorough battery inspection. Auto artisans can give a look-see to engine fluid levels, top off windshield-wiper fluid, and sprinkle cars with aftershave to ready them for trysts with golf carts.
