Position: Outreach Worker - F% j# T& k; b' r. v$ E v" o
/ ]+ h- w( v* R, y" w8 J3 V. KJob Description! D! f4 x' S0 [$ f Y
- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information
! b) o# p8 s/ g: X" J/ a# f" O# V- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.9 m$ b- C) Y# f7 _
- develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
0 |/ g6 F0 G! e) x% l- provide support to ISP staff
' u& N# z7 z7 p0 u2 b- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members
, D: l. p' A; U, m+ A- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities
- V% U7 ^$ Z% o) Q- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated
* g- G. V1 S# e# t+ m) e/ V- K+ X- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants- U8 \( U3 t1 ?1 `: V" y, l
- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals' Z9 T8 n9 f8 d2 t) R: j7 `9 h9 ?
- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder
0 Q& u0 e8 f/ H* M- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.: J" x& h4 `! I% v* C" ?
- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities1 Q# F. J0 D- c% W" S
- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned z5 L5 s8 b4 z+ H9 A5 H- Z
- other duties as assigned

2 l' W5 Q" D- X- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered C/ q' z6 ~7 D) P9 |3 N+ @! T
- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available7 A Y) L& ~) w) s9 [
- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers, L k% k( {8 i5 x! q; \9 M
- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software
; V) B6 e+ I8 w' u- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)
