Purpose of Position
2 J/ J5 D( l& \' ]1 PThe Human Resources Advisor is a generalist position, responsible for providing a range of support and expertise, enabling management to deliver best practices and human resource solutions which support the business operations of the PCN.: ]/ P4 x8 A# J! K! Q$ m& k
This role reports directly to the General Manager., }; {% c2 c# K4 O

Key Responsibilities
0 q: s8 e) A, d" E& y* {' o* kThe key responsibilities of this role is to review and ensure effectiveness of day-to-day human resources functions, includes, but are not limited, to:
5 J7 V6 P3 U' j1 l5 p( G1 U' Z1. Recruitment, Selection and Orientation. S5 P& c% J% d  \& I6 q
• Provide guidance and support for recruitment, sourcing, job postings, screening, interviews, reference checks, and selection practices, as well as job offers: L; Y. R  y9 U% I3 h, J
• Develop, administer and evaluate applicant tests
$ Y: P* e/ ^/ Z0 B" S9 L2 u• Ensure job descriptions are kept current  ^: J3 P4 I: U9 S  g" V+ O
• Manage the new employee orientation and orientation programs* w2 I& D" h0 |; ]8 C
• Support the administration of probation evaluations for all employees
7 G* [/ F" V$ E; s4 u5 q6 g" S% ~5 i9 ~6 ?
2. Policy and Procedure9 P5 a5 a% ?* e! ]# R+ e
• Provide recommendations for policies and procedures; when identified as a priority and delegated by the General Manager, develop the necessary documentation and seek approval
3 T0 |, W; F$ m6 [ Manage all policies and procedures to ensure consistency, references are correct and there is no duplication or contradictions, R0 A2 n0 O. c8 }. w
• Advise all employees, especially Team Leads and Managers, on interpretation and administration of policies, procedures, programs and legislative compliance

3. Performance Management Support
% [6 j# j* n1 b5 Y, l8 {3 T• Monitor attendance/absenteeism and assist with the administration of performance management program# a3 j2 g' V& |3 e2 S
• Support Team Leads and Managers in the administration of discipline and employee coaching
: u8 A! t# Y+ R- T3 G0 Y• Provide resolutions to employee relation issues (e.g. employee complaints and harassment allegations)
, X6 B) `6 w8 a/ v6 r• Conduct exit interviews and provide management with analysis and recommendations* g: b- v0 z& v4 R( T# A
• Member of, and responsible for, the Rewards and Recognition Committee

4. Human Resource Information Gathering2 ~. M4 p0 X* b# K
• Maintain accurate records and compile statistical reports relating to personnel data – e.g. hires, absenteeism rates, performance appraisals
6 k2 y3 q3 d: K: U• Analyze statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of personnel problems and develop recommendations for improvement of organization's personnel policies and practices2 `' N) L' x# l: Q, w* s$ R1 J
/ W, {/ [# |( ^+ g$ `' D
5. Management Support and Planning
" N( @$ B, `& \. v0 f& f8 v• Provide input and support to the management team on employee relations issues. o4 ~/ e  D: f% D( G
• Ensure compliance with employment legislation
/ v! t, o2 L# T: H. R: ?5 M$ e! H# k* ~5 K) s4 x6 {
6. Job Evaluation, Compensation and Classification
/ I, O* D  _' S' U5 P• Administer and record employee rewards, recognition and incentive programs
  H( `- `. v4 H• Manage salary structure and job evaluation system, from time to time, as required+ ^/ w( f) J. Q) W! m

7 y; A% H4 c0 f% u1 {7. Payroll and Benefits9 {# W+ ?$ m0 r/ j. p, W- j; N. s' x
• Oversee payroll administration and maintain relationship with payroll provider" Y4 E0 Z0 `7 b9 t- a
• Administer and educate employees of benefits and maintain a sustainable relationship with insurance providers
) H* A/ |  `7 A% f! `  t, U8 U• Manage claims for short-term and long-term disability, and ensure effective return-to-work programs

8 Y- r: \4 D% o! fHealth and Safety
; u+ r) T# m  ~: ]  D• Be a member of the Safety Committee5 e" m4 ?0 E6 i5 I; b2 c

9 t0 K3 Z$ F0 wQualifications & Expertise+ C% Z6 o0 Q, o3 V
 Minimum 5 years of experience as an HR generalist (series of progressive specialist roles will also be considered)4 `- P" u7 O1 {  E+ _
 Minimum 2-year diploma, preferably in human resources or business administration specializing in HR, or related area of study (equivalencies will be considered)
% i4 }$ Z2 W+ m1 h A CHRP designation is an asset  L% `; X' b) S+ F2 o' z
 Experience in the health care industry is an asset
" [) S( I$ ~$ c* z; j; u Experience managing change is preferred
( x. W5 i6 }$ F- o7 x, ?% ^6 A Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook0 \6 ~- n3 E5 T! ~
& J, u( `- q4 A% ]/ x

3 P1 n" i" c/ J$ j2 A2 GHours of Work & (if any) Special Considerations
, Q/ j  ^, b  P9 A" a- [37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday exclusive of lunch/breaks during standard operating hours. Early morning or late evening meetings may occasionally be required, particularly if meeting with physicians.
