Purpose of Position
+ b# h2 f4 `5 m/ |8 B( \$ TThe Human Resources Advisor is a generalist position, responsible for providing a range of support and expertise, enabling management to deliver best practices and human resource solutions which support the business operations of the PCN.

Key Responsibilities3 M6 Q, R, T# ?
The key responsibilities of this role is to review and ensure effectiveness of day-to-day human resources functions, includes, but are not limited, to:) C) D. i" o2 G2 H7 O
1. Recruitment, Selection and Orientation( [+ |. Q8 ?* _3 ?/ `& i: Y
• Provide guidance and support for recruitment, sourcing, job postings, screening, interviews, reference checks, and selection practices, as well as job offers
1 |/ _1 D) _0 Y: j• Develop, administer and evaluate applicant tests
+ w/ r- y8 O5 T• Ensure job descriptions are kept current) }; n/ i5 R5 m, V( y
• Manage the new employee orientation and orientation programs: ]7 t$ C7 t& J) @9 I# [' A
• Support the administration of probation evaluations for all employees
5 V  Q; l* |/ V8 o1 @" z- z8 P/ r* r: T7 C9 k$ O) y
2. Policy and Procedure5 y$ `1 t, k) A3 x7 {+ ?  G! m, s
• Provide recommendations for policies and procedures; when identified as a priority and delegated by the General Manager, develop the necessary documentation and seek approval' S8 L! P+ U/ \6 a0 y9 `* D* `
 Manage all policies and procedures to ensure consistency, references are correct and there is no duplication or contradictions: o; T' P& E4 C- t( _
• Advise all employees, especially Team Leads and Managers, on interpretation and administration of policies, procedures, programs and legislative compliance; X  q. t) S/ M0 o: _
! I  Z) h2 E7 |
3. Performance Management Support7 O. C7 p# w, {8 g7 F1 m9 G
• Monitor attendance/absenteeism and assist with the administration of performance management program
" U1 u  V+ c3 t4 u6 y/ D( ]7 v• Support Team Leads and Managers in the administration of discipline and employee coaching
! M/ C0 a# R# L- z' H5 Y• Provide resolutions to employee relation issues (e.g. employee complaints and harassment allegations)
- U9 k& l& J* L; |& L* u• Conduct exit interviews and provide management with analysis and recommendations  S! w3 k; b; k' p
• Member of, and responsible for, the Rewards and Recognition Committee' X- G/ x" M8 [( @3 y" Q

6 D& e0 K- \) A4 I4. Human Resource Information Gathering
' M. C1 l8 L7 U, y% t, Y• Maintain accurate records and compile statistical reports relating to personnel data – e.g. hires, absenteeism rates, performance appraisals9 i& h0 z; y$ b( H0 w
• Analyze statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of personnel problems and develop recommendations for improvement of organization's personnel policies and practices

• Provide input and support to the management team on employee relations issues
' L; r$ T! C! p+ ^• Ensure compliance with employment legislation; r7 B, c" Z  I9 b0 K$ C0 `8 G0 _

) s6 f5 H/ B0 @+ J' e" \# C6. Job Evaluation, Compensation and Classification
# V  p/ o2 s5 Z! Q6 y, J! m• Administer and record employee rewards, recognition and incentive programs6 Z7 c; C# h, Z
• Manage salary structure and job evaluation system, from time to time, as required6 Y5 W9 g' l3 `5 s

7. Payroll and Benefits
) _- }$ u, A  [  b1 d) ^• Oversee payroll administration and maintain relationship with payroll provider
5 N' |9 N& w" h" {2 H9 D• Administer and educate employees of benefits and maintain a sustainable relationship with insurance providers' E, X0 t8 M& T: Z( Z* e
• Manage claims for short-term and long-term disability, and ensure effective return-to-work programs5 I6 _+ l: m4 t. K2 P" x: p

0 p& H5 S7 ^: f) O1 t1 dHealth and Safety
& v; Z! Q( `! L" _9 M( p0 d• Be a member of the Safety Committee
7 T( @- d: A( @: f) F0 I
7 O6 z# \  s. `0 o' p; c7 H- iQualifications & Expertise, h% M3 \7 |, U7 G" L5 _
 Minimum 5 years of experience as an HR generalist (series of progressive specialist roles will also be considered)& N3 S. X; d* }5 ]6 b
 Minimum 2-year diploma, preferably in human resources or business administration specializing in HR, or related area of study (equivalencies will be considered)# P  ~+ j1 t, X* a' I! N- q! p
 A CHRP designation is an asset
9 r0 G* F; l- c+ F- R2 x Experience in the health care industry is an asset
' v# F* F8 |$ g: h, ^- C Experience managing change is preferred: P! m9 g' N1 u+ U5 t
 Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook3 n% O; m7 K! u& k$ O' J

 Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including presentation skills

37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday exclusive of lunch/breaks during standard operating hours. Early morning or late evening meetings may occasionally be required, particularly if meeting with physicians.
