Purpose of Position3 a# n! W* p7 U; K2 _
The Human Resources Advisor is a generalist position, responsible for providing a range of support and expertise, enabling management to deliver best practices and human resource solutions which support the business operations of the PCN.
% v  V( ]& D/ D, c% _1 o% }6 ^This role reports directly to the General Manager.

Key Responsibilities
. m& X6 g2 L% `5 h/ \The key responsibilities of this role is to review and ensure effectiveness of day-to-day human resources functions, includes, but are not limited, to:
( c2 s% [6 M- _! u3 E& b; O" i1. Recruitment, Selection and Orientation$ q* {5 J0 ]8 Z  Q
• Provide guidance and support for recruitment, sourcing, job postings, screening, interviews, reference checks, and selection practices, as well as job offers
, X5 |& t- ~  A• Develop, administer and evaluate applicant tests
3 Y# X4 s* \; Z6 B• Ensure job descriptions are kept current3 e/ T6 D, E3 b- e2 ^- F: T
• Manage the new employee orientation and orientation programs; C* b7 L# ]4 U& H9 R% D
• Support the administration of probation evaluations for all employees
3 e0 J+ y: _: R5 j. i# ]' J9 m& W: \' _; c: n) H. C! T
2. Policy and Procedure* n% T# f4 m# e
• Provide recommendations for policies and procedures; when identified as a priority and delegated by the General Manager, develop the necessary documentation and seek approval3 F# n$ U  U' l6 S
 Manage all policies and procedures to ensure consistency, references are correct and there is no duplication or contradictions
4 d' Q6 @: B$ E  `3 `/ Z  w9 t• Advise all employees, especially Team Leads and Managers, on interpretation and administration of policies, procedures, programs and legislative compliance! I2 ]( H# F# L- {* }$ B  p3 e
4 L* W* Q$ ]' O) e7 o* `
3. Performance Management Support
0 K7 n/ N6 c; d0 `2 V+ U3 q. h• Monitor attendance/absenteeism and assist with the administration of performance management program
& u* t+ ^$ F2 w+ H6 ]0 T• Support Team Leads and Managers in the administration of discipline and employee coaching. |, G% `1 e$ o  e* s* M6 j
• Provide resolutions to employee relation issues (e.g. employee complaints and harassment allegations)
4 `  [& w8 _0 k" @' ~• Conduct exit interviews and provide management with analysis and recommendations1 d4 A( v3 l. @# U  [
• Member of, and responsible for, the Rewards and Recognition Committee# i% v: }5 S# S/ i5 U: K

4. Human Resource Information Gathering2 T& P0 F; a5 l, j( F
• Maintain accurate records and compile statistical reports relating to personnel data – e.g. hires, absenteeism rates, performance appraisals
$ b1 j) B5 h) d/ e• Analyze statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of personnel problems and develop recommendations for improvement of organization's personnel policies and practices( v0 I6 X7 W2 E6 C% ~/ Y

% o* L& Q$ z0 e5. Management Support and Planning+ g; b, f1 h, o" W" h" e2 u1 S- T+ L! @
• Provide input and support to the management team on employee relations issues) P. z: E3 j0 W: |% ]6 |1 K- h
• Ensure compliance with employment legislation
' ]' s6 @; h7 _, g8 a! ?
# {# S7 |) Y' n  N" i6. Job Evaluation, Compensation and Classification" z7 l$ Z. f0 I9 I# ~7 M0 }  N
• Administer and record employee rewards, recognition and incentive programs
2 Z# J4 Y" w; }! H• Manage salary structure and job evaluation system, from time to time, as required
" f/ ?* X0 P; t' l6 F7 \. C% U* a# Q: o% e( z+ ^2 L! g5 R
7. Payroll and Benefits
6 N; z  E# d7 X, {  r5 J• Oversee payroll administration and maintain relationship with payroll provider
& w3 z' z1 p, q  A# n  M, i• Administer and educate employees of benefits and maintain a sustainable relationship with insurance providers( p0 n8 M2 q1 L
• Manage claims for short-term and long-term disability, and ensure effective return-to-work programs
9 h0 m; m3 \0 x& i  d! s; }1 D5 p
. Q  A3 M) v" }" K& ~- oHealth and Safety: L) i; v/ _  H! o1 I/ }
• Be a member of the Safety Committee# t* _: y" }5 K' J

" K$ R4 ~: H  c) w: q, j$ \3 KQualifications & Expertise' j( d% A1 B* M* j
 Minimum 5 years of experience as an HR generalist (series of progressive specialist roles will also be considered)
3 u% k0 @. g: \3 p6 _ Minimum 2-year diploma, preferably in human resources or business administration specializing in HR, or related area of study (equivalencies will be considered)
1 q7 Q! b/ O# K# z( t A CHRP designation is an asset5 ?( z6 W' u  n6 D, K3 x
 Experience in the health care industry is an asset6 g( B) y) v* x3 ]/ A6 w+ h
 Experience managing change is preferred9 D( A0 i; `6 H/ X4 z9 {: \# A
 Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook0 `9 k) D$ x  s; P- _
- ]7 A4 [0 {* l$ [0 x

 Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including presentation skills

 Excellent time and project management skills

Hours of Work & (if any) Special Considerations3 |% @) ]: v, o# @
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday exclusive of lunch/breaks during standard operating hours. Early morning or late evening meetings may occasionally be required, particularly if meeting with physicians.
