Purpose of Position
. n2 j* m3 j) I$ M/ w# S9 q% m) S' OThe Human Resources Advisor is a generalist position, responsible for providing a range of support and expertise, enabling management to deliver best practices and human resource solutions which support the business operations of the PCN.

The key responsibilities of this role is to review and ensure effectiveness of day-to-day human resources functions, includes, but are not limited, to:$ m M' p& l n3 X, H
1. Recruitment, Selection and Orientation+ y9 @6 K: C& j+ S
• Provide guidance and support for recruitment, sourcing, job postings, screening, interviews, reference checks, and selection practices, as well as job offers& a- U; H$ _6 W/ W1 ^# \0 h Q
• Develop, administer and evaluate applicant tests3 O `: { y# I4 R- a! d
• Ensure job descriptions are kept current
) n/ V- H, s/ D) K• Manage the new employee orientation and orientation programs
+ e0 ?2 B, P" s2 D; A• Support the administration of probation evaluations for all employees N# ?4 J+ L! k% @

2. Policy and Procedure/ W7 d1 z7 J9 O3 J
• Provide recommendations for policies and procedures; when identified as a priority and delegated by the General Manager, develop the necessary documentation and seek approval. Z+ g6 `2 f B+ a' L+ ^* q- W
 Manage all policies and procedures to ensure consistency, references are correct and there is no duplication or contradictions
2 D& X5 l) B+ N+ ~• Advise all employees, especially Team Leads and Managers, on interpretation and administration of policies, procedures, programs and legislative compliance+ k8 l- k5 }: ` n! g+ ]" g
& n( ], M8 I4 `" S7 S& G3. Performance Management Support
$ {% R0 n: U( l7 O1 g• Monitor attendance/absenteeism and assist with the administration of performance management program
G6 K! ?0 }% J4 j• Support Team Leads and Managers in the administration of discipline and employee coaching
# k. @- h, Y2 s9 f# X5 X• Provide resolutions to employee relation issues (e.g. employee complaints and harassment allegations)
( w& C* x4 X) h8 Y: U. ~• Conduct exit interviews and provide management with analysis and recommendations
]8 u) U( L& i+ f3 |8 O i• Member of, and responsible for, the Rewards and Recognition Committee

4. Human Resource Information Gathering$ `6 Z! J) @- B* m! k- z
• Maintain accurate records and compile statistical reports relating to personnel data – e.g. hires, absenteeism rates, performance appraisals
5 g5 W) U" @8 Q/ J ?! S• Analyze statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of personnel problems and develop recommendations for improvement of organization's personnel policies and practices$ K3 h* c; B( i- {- y

. F) C$ F) w1 L7 C• Provide input and support to the management team on employee relations issues

# E, i! c: I+ ]• Administer and record employee rewards, recognition and incentive programs

• Oversee payroll administration and maintain relationship with payroll provider

( y) ]0 x! C7 i• Manage claims for short-term and long-term disability, and ensure effective return-to-work programs

Qualifications & Expertise) P* @& e4 r6 O- U, ]
 Minimum 5 years of experience as an HR generalist (series of progressive specialist roles will also be considered)" E. u o% m" a3 x; n0 [8 B, D. ^
 Minimum 2-year diploma, preferably in human resources or business administration specializing in HR, or related area of study (equivalencies will be considered) e2 P+ `8 j" |
 A CHRP designation is an asset
" x# Z. P8 |# D2 h3 n( N/ t# A$ g Experience in the health care industry is an asset
9 \$ P- r: d& h. }& x6 C+ D Experience managing change is preferred& l- d) X" r( D# W$ _
 Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
