Purpose of Position
) w4 y. F4 \3 I& E1 X4 e% I2 ~The Human Resources Advisor is a generalist position, responsible for providing a range of support and expertise, enabling management to deliver best practices and human resource solutions which support the business operations of the PCN." [% i) f$ g. f+ D
This role reports directly to the General Manager.

The key responsibilities of this role is to review and ensure effectiveness of day-to-day human resources functions, includes, but are not limited, to:7 Y$ D- C3 S) _4 R, k( v& X$ I5 w# E
1. Recruitment, Selection and Orientation- }9 Z/ Q- O# s( g; q: ]2 }( W, b
• Provide guidance and support for recruitment, sourcing, job postings, screening, interviews, reference checks, and selection practices, as well as job offers; `  A9 R  h4 T7 N: a
• Develop, administer and evaluate applicant tests" k7 y/ z" S6 |  f0 j. C+ o* M1 @
• Ensure job descriptions are kept current3 \" l3 ^3 D" J, r# d8 Y
• Manage the new employee orientation and orientation programs0 k6 P% U8 g8 t8 O. o5 N/ p
• Support the administration of probation evaluations for all employees
- g" K' D7 Z" K, w- v& C& R0 b) H+ H7 N6 i
2. Policy and Procedure9 S5 p/ D6 _6 n. ~( r
• Provide recommendations for policies and procedures; when identified as a priority and delegated by the General Manager, develop the necessary documentation and seek approval
- R  {9 Y, z5 C# ~- b Manage all policies and procedures to ensure consistency, references are correct and there is no duplication or contradictions1 F& E: f, r8 L( \1 a; u$ m( v
• Advise all employees, especially Team Leads and Managers, on interpretation and administration of policies, procedures, programs and legislative compliance; A2 B; U; w" a6 `8 H/ p6 R

! ^8 {- e; I2 t* i" X5 r3. Performance Management Support
& b9 c  n! _' X! d( S• Monitor attendance/absenteeism and assist with the administration of performance management program$ k: ~1 ~. W* E
• Support Team Leads and Managers in the administration of discipline and employee coaching
# z  J: _! g* M% i7 V+ f+ M• Provide resolutions to employee relation issues (e.g. employee complaints and harassment allegations), r- M$ V8 b6 X* |  h9 p
• Conduct exit interviews and provide management with analysis and recommendations8 I# u: ^* |  g" C/ n- }, L
• Member of, and responsible for, the Rewards and Recognition Committee

! G7 L0 S, S" C2 w7 ^4. Human Resource Information Gathering, K6 x; C9 g. y4 q
• Maintain accurate records and compile statistical reports relating to personnel data – e.g. hires, absenteeism rates, performance appraisals
. O7 Q- a! d  M% h* d• Analyze statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of personnel problems and develop recommendations for improvement of organization's personnel policies and practices

  I& J6 i7 V4 R; {• Provide input and support to the management team on employee relations issues+ s! R  W( u' h$ W7 V0 G
• Ensure compliance with employment legislation
$ o3 _/ M5 e& b6 [0 x# c- F/ _) E1 q/ R/ p) Q& g/ j
6. Job Evaluation, Compensation and Classification
3 F  ]8 s. t: O4 k9 q3 |" U• Administer and record employee rewards, recognition and incentive programs5 m! y0 u1 @: E# m
• Manage salary structure and job evaluation system, from time to time, as required
7 N7 A9 `8 b9 K9 z- Q" K! N) h' `# A) d8 V/ e, d5 ~4 n, E
7. Payroll and Benefits1 V3 O3 i/ ]; w5 ]1 b
• Oversee payroll administration and maintain relationship with payroll provider
1 A$ p9 @1 k% R/ h& \• Administer and educate employees of benefits and maintain a sustainable relationship with insurance providers9 J2 A# j8 ~9 {5 p' E2 X
• Manage claims for short-term and long-term disability, and ensure effective return-to-work programs( }, I" C# f: \) f6 L  L# I

Health and Safety) X- `7 A" B( |6 j( j
• Be a member of the Safety Committee) d6 i1 E* a7 p- Q8 D  J! U" }6 K0 h

. c) q+ [  d1 i; S( O6 v+ uQualifications & Expertise1 A1 J* m$ v" x) M
 Minimum 5 years of experience as an HR generalist (series of progressive specialist roles will also be considered)# {) V, h! @8 N8 g5 q
 Minimum 2-year diploma, preferably in human resources or business administration specializing in HR, or related area of study (equivalencies will be considered)
# f9 ?* p8 q2 ?' o2 m# F; t8 W A CHRP designation is an asset: m( C" g8 c# ^) }
 Experience in the health care industry is an asset2 L8 X& b/ F1 q9 s8 z! |( P8 p+ ?
 Experience managing change is preferred5 ]5 Y, K' u, [: C' O+ N
 Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
) U: s  _* l" _4 A3 s) ]7 W8 D* J" x9 }2 a

 Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including presentation skills

' M+ R; ~) |5 n. @37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday exclusive of lunch/breaks during standard operating hours. Early morning or late evening meetings may occasionally be required, particularly if meeting with physicians.
