Resource Room Advisor/Resume Writer

 Provide information regarding job search strategies and labour market information.

Settlement Counsellor
; ]# h2 R2 }1 P$ k; @0 [  Y% e Engage with and build a professional trusting relationship with newcomers, treating them with dignity and in line with the values of the Bredin Institute.! |  U& G2 h& f! C
 Support newcomers participation in the settlement program.+ a2 k" w' T: U6 E7 T
 Promote Bredin Institute’s mission, vision, values and strategic objectives.

 Work with newcomers in assessing their needs and a needs-based settlement plan.
1 T9 I  O4 j4 }* Q6 T Liaise effectively with a range of service providers, both voluntary and statutory, in order to ensure services are available to newcomers.( ^( P/ a: x) X& Q
 Accompany newcomers to other agencies and to act as advocate as necessary.! ^! M) B4 G6 B& k0 Q- Q
 Ensure that newcomers know and understand their entitlements.

 Responsible for intake, orientation and completion of workability assessments.+ x: Q5 W: O- ?
 Deliver program overview to potential clients, as well as other interested parties.- D4 A/ P3 I5 s1 g! [# L( K" X
 Screen and assess clients’ skills and abilities through a workability assessment.2 D% @: R4 L2 I3 A2 z% `
 Determination of which stream of services most appropriate for the client.9 _2 C1 a# y" P- W' }
 Provide referral information on other services that may be more suitable for the client.9 U9 P. `  I6 u1 l; ?, \
 Cooperatively with the client, develop an individualized service plan.$ I6 [% R; n: }
 Create and update clients files on Mobius computer system  C" M9 a/ L: ^! P2 [

 Ensure that participants have access to the required supports to successfully complete their Service Plan
2 K& L: _4 v: a. Z Assist clients in maintaining a job or in identifying barriers/issues that keep clients from obtaining/maintaining employment% ?2 h9 T6 R! K2 C2 ]3 a5 a
 Assist clients with obtaining required documentation for working in their profession in Canada# W- D3 @! Z& ?9 q) x
 Develop and maintain knowledge of current programs and services available for participants* e& ~! k: k, W% n
 Complete participant reviews with the participants
# L6 u; {' r0 P: F& N9 r Complete 90 and 180 day follow up with client after training completion6 w% e- W$ c6 F5 N' Q9 o' x1 [5 B
 Perform other duties as assigned by manager/coordinator
