Alberta College is governed by an independent Board of Governors

1903, Alberta College predates both the City of Edmonton and the 3 p% a5 o. T9 s
Province of Alberta. It was founded by concerned citizens as the
6 I8 j; D( O# s4 p7 E: C6 Z' V& jfirst post-secondary school in the area, on land bequeathed by 2 x: E: ]( n2 D0 q2 L
pioneer George McDougall for educational purposes. The College

and its main purpose was to prepare young students for

transfer to McGill University.

College has always distinguished itself as innovative and

International Music Academy in 1998 and the creation of leading

the first of its kind in Canada, providing opportunities for
