"UA" or "U of A"?

When referring to University of Alberta, most Chinese use the abbr. "UA", while local speakers usually say "U of A".

Are they both officially correct?

University of Alberta 这个是正式的全名。所以正式的缩写应该是U of A.

缩写的目的是方便，词越少，越容易说越好，所以ua比u of a 好。应该大力倡导，大说特说。反而后者u of a的缩写不伦不类，虽然很多人这么说。

actually it is just a convention, and we should keep using whichever is convenience for Chinese, the more we use it , the more popular it will be , and eventually it will become an acceptable one, just likes "Long Time No See"

云吞真是好同学，眼睛不是一般的亮。能从细微处看到问题，不简单。

& F& f$ h8 k0 W/ L7 R+ }. \2 Z4 L  ]5 y粗略看了一下，确实很多加拿大大学，都在自己的官方网站上用了 of ， 比方 u of c, u of t, u of s. 但是看美国的大学，没有一个大学这么说的。

跟本地人就说U of A， 因为跟他们说UA自己都感觉别扭。
跟中国人100%说UA，因为跟他们说U OF A自己感觉更别扭。跟自己人就用最简单的话说。
