Responsibilities
 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
% X/ R* v+ {7 e+ Y Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
$ p$ k# z. g- f/ B+ ~$ G. g Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
 Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
+ D- i8 ~6 Q: K' Q Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
( g' T# _8 Q. V3 _( [. V! A; w Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

, A$ H' p# C0 M  P+ M6 X( u Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
3 v8 D: ^, K- x5 W$ f" E% V Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
2 X2 z7 M" o7 H1 U" S: l, l5 E2 A, I! E Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
- Y* M9 q4 K6 k% O8 B* } Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
# |; \- L+ `5 a4 S- W& u0 }2 i Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
