 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
( a1 X0 F' F, e8 w+ {0 Q0 i3 R0 z- I Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
9 _  L# m) u( _  d6 I" V  ` Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
 Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
$ O6 r  i* e, u; l Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
3 T+ u- R  H- }5 @/ C, v& M' V3 S) o Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

% r% t/ F" ^" D- ]/ Q$ U- r; s Social work degree or diploma
$ R; ^$ F( j7 e$ N9 u Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
 Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues

2 C( w. h0 T5 o) I% b" G+ \& ] Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

EMCN is a community agency that provides a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees. Further information is available at www.emcn.ab.ca.  Salary for the position begins at $34 879. A cost-shared benefits plan, including RRSP, is available.
