Responsibilities
 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
/ l$ |% w  b7 Q: m: x Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
9 Y, K2 V+ L( a) s& c1 r  e( u' l Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
- S5 T* Z" l; E" m" l# W Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
" e* @" b- H  t9 T0 X$ x) } Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

. u3 D2 d; @0 R" ?# I Social work degree or diploma
2 L; X. G7 z2 m5 S# V Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
 Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills

9 u. j' |  h6 z3 f Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
