% G( o' j7 P5 I Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
7 U( O% x$ [7 x& r2 ?$ I Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
 Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
* i0 s  B7 |8 j8 K$ W7 Z. i! | Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

 Social work degree or diploma
/ B* x0 ]1 C( m" h  } Current RSW designation preferred   
% D3 a- k3 b5 q( S Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
. m4 D" x4 s$ k4 C. Q, b Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
8 H+ ^* a) ?! ?' o+ A Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
8 O8 u5 U8 z3 I1 X, V" { Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
$ d) b  L8 H5 [! t. s2 e, N Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  L1 k$ E8 a8 A! `2 b- _ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.

% D/ z" [; j! KEMCN is a community agency that provides a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees. Further information is available at www.emcn.ab.ca.  Salary for the position begins at $34 879. A cost-shared benefits plan, including RRSP, is available.
