 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
, z) R9 U. ^  o0 j. o! F9 t Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
+ L( n; ^4 [- }" a% ~ Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
* {, N/ ]; T& J% b% i8 w; g Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
 Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
# Z5 u" I, u" b, W1 h Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
# ]" L; a6 h' h* a7 b" | Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
 Social work degree or diploma
4 q3 |: Q& m) S$ q' E Current RSW designation preferred   
# U% D* q+ F4 r& n( q; \  |) @$ C Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
( S- y$ E( ]9 G5 o6 z$ n Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
' {& c8 @- N! `( u5 r Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
3 z/ }/ U; P7 ~5 ^7 R. a  B6 k Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
