Responsibilities
 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
; I: y; V+ B9 {9 x Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
# b. q  B8 L7 s2 i7 Y Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
0 Z0 x- q# j* ]2 m Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
( S' G8 u# X) A2 U8 }5 m Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
5 ^( V& A9 U4 Y! m# ]2 m Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
: t7 ?' Y  s8 [9 e+ S9 v  f Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
1 v, H4 w3 a8 c) l Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
