Responsibilities
 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
/ z8 w6 W/ h9 h, \: k. Y  B Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
, z% L) j. ]4 g Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
& H" v. V6 \1 S% w Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
 Social work degree or diploma
6 Y/ c3 `4 u3 k# g/ N7 E+ A Current RSW designation preferred   
5 S. ?" }9 z# E5 I( `# A. f Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
" t4 e2 ]. O5 i  A$ {+ M* h Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
7 n# s; F# h1 t" r; s$ t2 X Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
6 ?& G- P! [. \! T1 l3 G' s Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  o: y; \5 U2 f; W1 D Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
