Duties
) h l: a7 P# {% \' I$ \Delivers, sorts and picks up mail, parcels, courier documents, cylinders, crates, dangerous goods, furniture, tack boards, tables and chairs, surplus equipment, and any related incoming and outgoing items- Z9 N6 z. l# S4 a" B$ E
Obtains signatures, scans traceable items into Palm Pilots upon delivery to departments
% V1 ]- _( x) g* U, W1 IEnsures Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations are followed on TDG shipments inbound and outbound. w- g8 E. y. d* S q) w) [- u
Prioritizes workload and requests from dispatcher and team lead; X" ^( R8 B9 J# Y: M4 n; X- U* ~
Operates University vehicles from small vans to 3-ton trucks, including standard transmissions
, P% Q# N I7 FPerforms related duties as required& A8 X* T" s1 M1 y* {- D& i
Qualifications
/ ]2 p1 p8 _% [; h/ f/ r6 b+ r+ EValid Class 5 drivers license - the successful candidate will be required to provide a Drivers' Abstract and have completed a Defensive Driving course in the previous 2 years.
$ K* T% ]/ M9 v! I S$ f" JHigh School diploma; previous driving experience required# w2 u+ b6 Z7 X
Current certification in Transportation of Dangerous Goods; Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) certification* k8 M* q1 w2 t, \( d
Training related to proper handling procedures of Radioactive and Biohazard materials
