Key Responsibilities & Duties:

& v" _6 u. M5 h1 n$ r4 b Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
1 Z  s6 U! T6 r. i' g Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
6 n: I3 W( z* E+ f Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
7 O7 y2 l. v/ z7 p5 g9 s Completing required paperwork.
' t- G4 a% T* p( ?1 s Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
$ T' T" ]4 r+ B* D Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
, O7 f' w) b9 z  l; [ Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
( P2 _1 l; q6 v/ v- z Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
& e/ Y0 e. U$ W5 `  p  R% I0 \ Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
1 O: d, R* b% e+ A Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
0 j& V  }% l* n& V2 D, [, MThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006.
There is a 3-month probationary period.
