Key Responsibilities & Duties:

% k5 v' l2 Y2 ^& T- ]/ ]0 S Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
$ a7 \8 }& P5 a+ y0 w Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
. s2 J; L( k. F+ c  s  Z& z Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
% X; H1 U/ _' ~6 e- s, Q# b Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
1 X( J" S' v4 X) D Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
: }, D' D" g6 f9 w5 ^0 ?" l Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
$ @7 D3 c  O5 {4 J4 A Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006.
There is a 3-month probationary period.
