Key Responsibilities & Duties:
! o0 [) ^, F2 i, K3 {. ~; u
 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
# c4 f. l+ g4 g2 F9 H2 v( @0 K1 c! Y' } Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
# X0 J& L  U2 w$ q: h Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
4 \2 A: h4 m, D. W% U& V Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
: i7 ~$ l! D, M6 G6 D, t9 p Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
$ R4 Z" m( t9 K- ~& z/ ]+ e Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
: E4 X! @5 }0 T. L& P Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
/ J- o9 V$ g& t; X# E Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
" j! q5 |: _' b Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

) M/ p; x5 w0 `! U. c& J
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
6 E# ~2 O+ H1 a, b Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
4 `3 D- l8 E% q& W Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
5 m. C; m- `9 f. c4 X' d Knowledge of community resources.
0 J; @; q2 }* o/ j) C/ A Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
2 Y, X( v( ^- a0 r# f6 N Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006.
There is a 3-month probationary period.
