New Program-‘ Tweenie Program’ (Ages 8-12)
Northeast Teen Drop-In Centre

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

+ y8 @& n& q, W6 B0 j, E2 y" _+ _0 @ Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
( A  i& l/ S) N Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
  b* k- {3 j- ? Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
  h6 M) D8 s% E6 ~& D$ g8 G( ?: S Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
3 d2 ^2 x) ]( f7 x" @$ I- M Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
4 P8 ?) i! e: X' Y Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
% a  N9 E" Y( k0 Z& `  s, Z3 Q Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

/ {- L- p$ L6 G
$ o/ f# z) o/ v5 J) q: j Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
) A2 U0 _4 d2 M0 S; W/ q) Z* Z Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
$ c4 k/ c' R1 ]" L6 T+ J Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

* N: {. s" @; z! N0 CPosition:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
4 H+ a3 ~) Z5 istarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
