Key Responsibilities & Duties:

6 d& f1 h, o" K, g& B Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
3 @5 h# u8 F2 ?9 ] Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
! o# z2 c5 {5 c* N. E9 q Completing required paperwork.
$ Q' v/ t- X( j Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
+ H; p$ T: W# V9 c, ?' H Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
3 ?7 `/ A- j0 u8 {4 i( @ Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
" Y$ w% @* E0 w' i, w  _ Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
; A: }/ s. D# D; p8 {1 P! d( _5 w Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:

5 s4 d& G; ^! ^+ c* p Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
9 F+ \% l' t; l1 L Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
