Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
3 ^( A' x4 b3 S3 _* u& h: c Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
- B% w+ U3 {7 I; k, _) x+ R Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.

 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
$ ^* r$ r' a/ N& R Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.- ~ Q+ }& G. }2 N3 I9 D: \: h
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information. $ a& Z! [. y/ [7 ?; W# a
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.3 o8 Z- C( m+ q1 A7 \9 m5 z
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.. l: G0 x8 h' m1 F9 ]
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.

Qualifications:9 k/ n( p. G" W. ~+ m5 Q
\5 I/ Q {. O$ t Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.& ?! T" [& r; x9 D& A7 ~% T
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
5 B7 h* Y. w0 F1 M# ~7 q$ P2 T Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
; j. d: F9 W6 c Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
H# ^" s( G1 R! _; @) |5 K Knowledge of community resources.
% W7 b n! J% h/ ] Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.9 g( c8 E& K' x1 U7 m
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
, o+ r' w. Y( B2 W- U8 x# E5 W3 r, ~This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
. Z# `6 ` W3 i* bstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period. |
