Key Responsibilities & Duties:

6 d& f1 h, o" K, g& B Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
3 @5 h# u8 F2 ?9 ] Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.9 E. n; Y/ d' H2 t
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
! o# z2 c5 {5 c* N. E9 q Completing required paperwork.
$ Q' v/ t- X( j Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.7 [" u$ L/ G2 d: |3 T
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
+ H; p$ T: W# V9 c, ?' H Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information. ; \2 W* m+ c8 f2 [+ c, C
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.

Qualifications: H+ P# p+ B% B( {
5 s4 d& G; ^! ^+ c* p Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
9 F+ \% l' t; l1 L Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.: D7 g3 [& ?! h
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth./ R" R' h9 A$ \2 z
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.9 e" l% n+ |( s4 q9 W* n# ~. O
 Knowledge of community resources.9 ^7 [: b0 x) E+ R* c+ D4 D, h
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.' M e& i3 w4 e! Z! N
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50; , m. T" Y6 p; @6 P8 B8 O. A
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period. |
