The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization.  This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

# N# L, A2 Q( }7 cThis is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week.   The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.5 J' U* [3 K* D9 I

Job Responsibilities:
# G$ }2 {# z6 R. X& B0 h: B; F! @& ]- Q2 W
OPERATIONS) X4 l( m& W3 w9 ^: E
•        Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
2 l( A+ I' w6 G% \•        Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
. K, |% H, p  m' `/ T8 {" I•        Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge: f- `2 |. l! {% v( ~% X7 f; ]( z
•        Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
" Z# z8 b& R) \9 c$ Y! H+ F2 d' I) p•        Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.5 z3 h2 [. a) n+ _. }
•        Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.. I+ _) S# t( \7 a/ b
•        Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
5 C" h, x1 ~: P( a•        Facilitate placement of  practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities, q6 H% Q& {5 M2 ?
•        Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING
6 A. z& a! H2 C; x) J; H•        Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
& K+ q$ m6 _$ l& M5 v; \2 f•        Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

3 E! b# f; v" a$ wADMINISTRATION9 S& Q. f, O) R% k% W% f  P
•        Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position# R  v: x& r& o
•        Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation5 Y+ P5 |4 q! s) T
•        Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate2 ^) ]$ ~: ^$ ~
•        Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
0 Y4 i* T1 d9 k+ _' `•        Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required - u4 ]+ T" |, X7 x4 J- B0 g" h" ]( |
•        Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency2 _" C! U, V; H, g
•        Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services
5 ~8 r8 S# d, X8 R•        Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

FINANCE
2 ~% @9 D! P) r( H; B5 P7 {•        Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
, R3 |8 c7 y/ ~( z4 i2 W•        Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

% q5 I$ P, |3 Q2 RINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS1 U/ E3 O' b8 ~# H4 z, `
•        Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers; B" c7 [  j& A7 G7 e
•        Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)" }. w: `7 B- l$ V
•        Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate ( [+ _0 f: v+ V" g' b4 |
•        Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required
$ }8 s: v6 C3 c, T5 ?
4 j# l4 H& F/ F4 g) X/ h! a5 uQualifications:
' _7 v$ f6 g6 e5 v" `% `1 d2 Z9 h( }& |
) k$ G9 a; Q) \7 |, D•        Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination# _) C7 o+ L% N" k: o& U/ L/ W
•        Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
) v' m; Z5 {& D$ A- {•        Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
0 b. S" A# g+ X$ A•        Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
+ `: D0 \! j% h3 ~! M8 t•        Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure) F: |- j% D& k% A6 N3 ]% e9 A; t3 t
•        Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
7 \: ]) z' J, m; \- c•        Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
. O/ g1 {3 P0 o2 O' _4 f3 s3 O# }. M•        Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
