The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. • Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
, L: B3 h: W# H; p• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services. P C6 Q8 B" P# [
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
. _9 A" r# D& T& x) w1 T. q% N5 Q• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills./ A* |8 a$ g6 [) n( _
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
$ \# {; O$ L. C, k9 u+ m0 s• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
& P* } v( G# b# ^ i• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.- V; B2 s) O% N: i
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
/ x6 V5 K. }! h• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
1 ?3 ] x- q/ h( b• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up( [1 K. W/ A" y, d
& s, H$ Q$ U' w& j1 e, l3 G
ADMINISTRATION# b; W/ t9 c& n9 z' G
• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position8 P$ @& q$ D! ]6 t' ^1 w" J
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
% b! O% M1 S/ Q% F9 R& Y) J' S8 S4 O; G• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate% o, _) z0 `& s+ o1 R
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
' O; c8 P8 |3 C' S( v• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required 6 D. F5 D& U! N
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency
# S& M$ J% [6 Y) S# [0 J6 T• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services$ _2 H& N7 [, U5 G' d' o3 Q) _7 ]
• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
8 G+ n6 W0 L. |! z. Z• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
+ ^6 U! i8 E5 i• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
. Y! \" V+ n" _& B: ]• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
0 y* |3 I4 E) r9 v& U: T• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
4 w% n* L/ a. r• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required5 m. d9 o, x) c) C) V. ~

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
" p" d9 ?$ X. S4 P• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
* r7 x8 p& |. h1 I r& f• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
4 j, T# E5 ]! }( w0 i9 N$ _5 v v5 M• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills ' d( i# V8 q8 w
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
( e5 v$ N- A' N" x F8 n' A- e• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects ( _8 M% y* n& p' A, j. \
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
- g' b& }% v2 \7 c/ Y• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
