The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. OPERATIONS
- ^! @5 }7 @7 M7 c' J4 w1 w• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
9 r6 ^! x H& w0 l+ L• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
3 G8 O( @( p$ v: T* _! b• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
o5 J0 _3 X( ~0 }, q• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.+ A% s; V+ ?3 x9 z2 `5 \
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
4 B0 ~7 o- p( `9 @( a/ _8 C+ M& R• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.8 Y% z3 m8 `# W$ o3 b8 Q3 b
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
6 |9 P1 r1 o2 H, F1 P• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities8 t( x2 f L2 Q$ [6 ~7 U) h+ e9 ]7 y0 R
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required% z% ~3 B. Y* ?8 d) C

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO; S( k8 d; P4 G
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

: s% M; e* M0 s% z+ _ADMINISTRATION
7 y& b- q* ?: D( A• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
* X( c! \0 G9 z2 G7 ?0 u• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
, ~+ S9 F+ V9 N" L• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
, y' r" X9 j/ h7 q8 h• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
0 R3 G; J9 t1 |# ~9 }• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
* ?" y3 V. U. a! a• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency% p! z* a: ]9 c4 e; Q, R
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services6 t1 ~3 H# }4 ?, t. b0 _+ j/ y
• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances$ ]1 N, N& j% N0 }1 U5 i3 X
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required" G' K7 N$ @) H$ V$ `( i
' H( g2 @' m! \- O$ vINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS' \) P m! V$ L- Z% a) y, k$ I3 Z
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers3 a3 O: v6 H D8 @# K
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
/ H- [4 T; n; C9 A5 a• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
% g+ v: Q8 a, G) }) W• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

- l. r/ |8 _# g* V; `; i' e2 j• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
