The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. OPERATIONS
% i4 ?$ Z" s+ t8 d/ {" }• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
7 f6 l( e: q3 K- |& K* [: y' v• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.7 v- }# z- P( f
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge& j# ^: {9 v/ o, a" B
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills./ ]) L: b% @) ]0 D
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
' t8 s4 Z( Q# h• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.1 Y$ I0 r& H' {+ Y: b9 Q0 s/ ?
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
: g8 W# p. A9 e" e& P• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
! i* p# k$ }$ ~$ F) \# ~5 V• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
" O( e6 l5 E: J: K# ~: `* y4 Y• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

7 r+ M, ~; {. g- {9 c4 p c• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
5 U8 S4 O* ^8 H8 l• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation8 i X! K9 E! |: }' b) I
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
( }8 ?* c7 i5 c) r2 I• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
; a8 f4 D K/ ?, [• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required 8 Z9 ]: @; a& B- Z1 B0 S
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency

• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances4 q0 a5 R# D) p) z9 ^7 |- i
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

- u. F e1 D" S4 b$ xINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
J8 L D4 K5 U4 Q. W• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
: n& m- w: F# A2 R• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
$ ]1 S) {: v v6 h4 \" B& D• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate & I1 d& q* M% Z+ t E
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination, Q" L- v% x' w1 Y' {
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
' h: q6 ^% R! h• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills& f: z2 g. J+ O& ~! t/ X3 l
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills , f3 V+ i0 Q0 C+ h, l( U1 V
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
1 g" Q9 z: |, Y9 `• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects

• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
