The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

OPERATIONS: A2 \2 A% O' }- B; j
• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
% r$ ?' k2 x) V& M% A• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.. w: x; @. b+ P" X
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge9 o$ _# d; P) L8 P# c: a3 Y
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
, _' \9 Y) N% M& r2 {, B• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.) y3 ]4 k- ]( n
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.

• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
: |8 u+ e; W& [• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING ( }. Z, K5 n5 o) _& l7 l
• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO7 R, Y R1 X/ u: I7 L: N2 k9 a
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up7 K5 D. w; g3 R- Q

ADMINISTRATION
8 K: K# s1 t& s0 k• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
7 N8 g: e4 C( } c& `) J• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
, L* [, b7 O; H- D- M! X: S1 b; v7 o• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate; z g4 J: w8 R
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
6 s# w4 | H* {( c0 R* ?7 ^+ U• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
. H; M& M4 [ j( ?' a& m• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency" |$ N; C, I4 \! ^3 v9 t
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services
$ z6 a/ J6 X. W' o* b2 u• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

FINANCE
9 E5 y% I7 o# I• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances& Y1 n2 u X& x |; {
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required6 Z# Y5 Q/ _8 b* V- t

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
7 z$ j h$ l. q/ B+ e& h; p• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers- N7 W0 X2 X+ w8 } t
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
5 m: {1 i7 s; c% q- t8 S• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate 1 M# h9 Y1 D* k3 D4 f" V
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required* q& y B X" f+ L4 ~6 l

Qualifications:

# d H) _% V2 G- J1 Z& O( T) h• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
, z9 J1 f0 ~0 N* ^• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
" u' y% a' [) l• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
! l' T- Y4 ?& Y8 I• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills 4 X3 E* F' T+ B2 [( k
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
1 l/ N# M, ^ [$ Q1 ]• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects

( z9 k8 p8 q8 |4 A• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
