The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. 9 m0 T4 S) L8 B$ r• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
5 v# ?. m2 q8 U3 P) g4 i. g* v9 \* T• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.+ F0 e( `% m' {: s+ q
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
1 E& J! r+ l6 ] u) P• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
( N$ m1 C4 B9 c$ Z2 K, a• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
/ O3 p1 ~" r. M% T. Q, V• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.! G: l5 ~/ o, [5 f! p, t
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.6 Q& t: }$ j7 \" D( t8 Z
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
+ c, F9 \& _5 _- A• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required9 W$ C0 j5 E! g% Q j% F& M3 C. J0 L

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
( {, x# i4 y' ?9 F% d0 ]- ~/ l• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
+ j+ d. X" i5 N• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
" h/ Q1 v' z5 Z5 k: S0 l• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
. B0 D9 ~- Z# m. Y• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department; y% B; a3 f; k( }( t) l
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
8 u: q$ o1 q; U. R9 M1 j" P• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency; q4 ?- Z# h) B1 [# a
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services) B3 x4 o9 H6 {4 ]( v2 m3 n( S+ `
• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

FINANCE

• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required6 J4 p% ^- ~/ c3 M! b% _7 k

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS2 z0 r2 O( J! R* b. ?( K7 t
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers4 q9 ~7 Z2 B' P; E
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)$ Q. O# i; U* A# W. R
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate 4 X: T0 s# h" s" G
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required' R* ^# G. a. @* X2 D r

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
4 l3 }4 p6 r# q, d2 P7 p• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability: P/ _6 b! _7 n3 I( A& q5 F
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
$ O' ?) @# L. D+ V0 t• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
- n; L; M9 Z! U6 U% h( @- E• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
5 E8 P" O3 F5 W• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects

• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
