The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

OPERATIONS
- F `# p* ` c0 p5 w& g2 R! S7 B• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.+ o& m7 u: ]0 l3 V# ]5 a# f- Q; ]
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.+ P7 e' P s o$ W$ b* i$ {+ g& N8 P* H; w
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge- p4 A& \/ j6 j/ m/ o* x/ G
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.- V! i" r) d* R! s: J# y( c* E5 B
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
! u* J& `7 ^7 o- \8 o- g* v• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
% {5 [; ?4 d; D7 h% X• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.) ~) `! |/ V# x6 |4 _. H, r
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
# r8 l& D+ D+ {* u. n. B• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING
5 a' B' ]+ Q" i• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO0 m$ [3 l; q, r) t# _9 d p& W
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up9 c& n5 p- t3 B& B0 ~
n8 n4 \) J, i2 i' uADMINISTRATION
( u. W. v* T5 R, {0 N! u1 L• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
4 b9 Y$ G0 E |& `0 J6 k5 o6 G8 T• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation0 G. h& f: N4 l+ n' B
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
/ H4 A$ Y" H0 g+ M• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department. ^6 F# q! C5 L, X
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required : h7 f! b* w; {3 w4 ^; l9 e# u6 i
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency
% Q r+ |/ [- ?; g3 u4 e• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services

FINANCE
8 M0 V# r+ E a+ s) o• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
. g- n6 f+ R/ E' Q* X; r• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS8 ~8 L: ]/ k, [! p) f' ~/ v
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers. y5 k0 ]) H) y! l( ^8 Y* ~
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)7 ] y9 j0 I& N5 q3 K# {
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate - B6 I/ }7 q3 O, [
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

Qualifications:( N% S8 x" i: x- C; P

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination1 S+ E$ ?# J- B( x9 O$ j# j6 P/ `
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
6 s$ n p) K& S. j) }• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills, r& j2 t% V; \# T
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
$ f1 Q1 ?) H) i& p, [9 ?' H1 D• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure0 ?" r B+ y' x2 X4 Y
• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
