The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

OPERATIONS
3 c' y" m- r, Q- |3 @4 j- K( ?0 x• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
7 R( ~% ~' |' r0 R/ O5 M( m1 H• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
5 G1 q. u& W# w* r+ J( G! A2 w• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
4 ^9 k, |' g/ u) o4 Q) I• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills./ a* J+ l. R! L- M
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.7 T8 k( x. K A$ d' \
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
2 \% X& e' K9 ~( u, o7 d" C• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
& p# G; r: W9 o; ~: Q& i• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
/ k+ i( r0 h% C5 @* J5 U• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

5 E. v- o2 k, L i, R; ?7 P0 Y* W• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO4 t# a& l. W. P r8 B$ h7 x
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up% T/ ]+ N6 }- F

ADMINISTRATION7 j2 t# u: ~3 E2 ^1 D C3 r
• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position d4 E3 t h( j
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation$ V! B, E0 z7 t- l, b
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
3 X5 _# O" U& W, ?6 X2 e, u7 W• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
1 \6 N. t; W! [+ g4 P6 ^• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
! c% V3 v* L8 P8 {• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency
1 N2 w* k `2 Y& B- c1 c, y• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services
! M1 i( s; C% U- F0 p3 y+ B$ v• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

FINANCE
J* I: M; G E' J% U• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
. G# C/ J# Y3 V3 l4 R• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

7 N/ E$ A+ D8 R& ?, ?9 HINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
$ Y8 R8 i3 U: B4 r8 i• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
+ W& m/ N- Y" n( s! E• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)7 Z; c) y8 }7 P/ P* ~% K
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate $ v5 k! b+ q/ I5 J6 s5 V9 z
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

Qualifications:

: _+ P5 s9 F4 X! u/ O& k• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination1 z! g- m' E9 ]5 a8 j) \
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
8 Y5 @. u! u- _% l% P4 A• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
* g( C* J: _9 ~) h$ n5 `( N7 i! i• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills 2 l$ r8 ^6 s8 _0 w' n' w _
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
