Mechanical Engineer/Specialist –Research Equipment Design

' q6 Z- f* _4 h2 t1 O  _An engineering start-up, which is committed to support the R&D and industrialization of process technologies in North America with expertise and international resources, now accepts applicant for the position of Mechanical Engineer /Specialist through Industry r&D Associates program, Alberta Ingenuity.

Major Responsibilities:
1 D3 o- {+ S6 j  @9 e- A•        Process research equipment design;
1 n% C) O5 h1 `/ B" Y+ s•        Pilot plant design with other professional engineers;
; h9 w% n3 \5 u* U$ j•        Equipment fabrication guidance;
•        Mechanical Codes/Standard elucidation;
•        Others.

Qualifications:
•        Mechanical Engineering Graduate of a Master’s or PhD program within five years of application date OR graduate student expecting to complete Master’s or PhD degree requirements within three months.
•        Equipment design experience is required;
1 Q! C$ R- D7 f1 n•        Familiar with mechanical Codes/Standards; knowledge of electrical Codes/Standards is helpful;
•        Familiar with CAD software;
' z$ V, R  k8 k9 b! S4 a•        Fluent in English, and knowledge of Mandarin is useful;
•        Fabrication, engineering and postdoctoral experience are assets.

& Y8 P! \) [; m; DCompensation:
& |" ?( C% j' t" {' L& qSuccessful applicant of Alberta Ingenuity Industry r&D Associates will be awarded a $55,000 stipend per annum and a yearly allowance of $7,000. The total award value over two years is $124,000 from Alberta Ingenuity with opportunity for permanent position and stock option from the company after two years’ term.
