Key Responsibilities & Duties:

; x$ n4 O& N0 Q: f+ N1 ~7 R' ~ Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
( X8 R. t3 d! o! _: r7 s) _* Z* ]8 N Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
& a3 a& f" [# \; G, ?0 Q# U& h1 `) T8 z Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
, o' J/ _9 j: A Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:
/ d5 F8 f+ a  c5 |. _
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
0 {0 e6 m! ~8 @# P. u Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
& k6 u* s. z  f# d* ~ Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
" }0 Q: K. [) e* ?9 Q Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
8 M; t: S5 s  W( P Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
$ ^1 C9 g9 Z: y# D4 \/ G! Sstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
