Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
: k  T7 u% f+ }9 }* Q- U6 H Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
3 k; a; m% V' g/ }" Y Completing required paperwork.
/ I7 l1 C' k2 r3 z$ }2 F$ y" | Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
1 L" l) B7 s" M3 k" ~ Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
9 `- Z, k- ?" J  v1 K Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
- j2 r) P" B7 S5 f! Z# p Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
7 V5 `# S) {3 h3 WThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
