2 [8 h" `% b# l8 h3 M% jAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

/ V' T) C6 y# P8 E* gDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1 N8 i9 f- ?6 ^Enterprise Data
• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
- Y+ [# S6 G* g1 E/ L' i. {• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
; t5 s3 n! z" M0 c  F  @• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
7 b+ O" t4 i/ ?  r- H$ \1 {& d• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
# X/ P6 F- a) }5 h• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
4 ^" P  z- i- L  H• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
8 f2 {0 T8 v5 Z4 O• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
# ~9 y5 r2 A" L* R• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
' z1 L& ]1 s3 ~• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
: z1 X# i  `( n: ]/ c* O• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
" Y! Y+ u/ M& f9 f4 |• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
- Z% I7 g3 C. l1 l! k/ ~' @- Z' @• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
) j1 h  c+ A9 z- f; ~• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
. L: p7 [" ~* S8 N3 h• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
4 Q7 e1 ~* [- @0 q* j9 f, k$ ^• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
