/ {8 o$ O  ]) t; o; S& Q6 S2 X. gAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

/ T  o4 W' \" Q4 F0 V) WDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Data
• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
, o- q: L; x6 x( @4 w0 m, n• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
- s8 e& D" S2 k( o( V1 ZBi /Reporting/ETL
0 d& i% x- u+ @  p  v• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
& `7 d4 ~! [& I• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
0 u5 ~, E' e4 V• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
  D3 P& `. W. _9 B/ O' P' J• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
1 o7 m5 @$ n4 I: a7 n! L: O• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
7 e7 l3 e% f) E: ^* @• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
8 W; G) S0 C4 \& @• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
; c9 C8 Z+ S4 ~* W6 J) i' d! F• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
/ `9 |6 A: A& a- ~4 H* H• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
; S; R, _  O# D3 B! p5 o5 B2 X, s# G• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
! c2 C; e' `' _! x' D+ v• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
' y' M" |4 }% V5 ]4 k• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
