+ a) B' {7 |' Q+ U- n) c/ ^' y$ BAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

. |& [' t5 B3 w. SDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Data
6 @  w% Q  d# J, X1 F. x8 C8 n• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
7 e! `- v. w- Z3 K3 D• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
9 i$ \9 M. s2 e. d1 j• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
: z0 G% D) R3 x2 t+ J( o9 p• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
0 m7 I" f% D+ ^8 V: `6 _• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
  h" G7 z6 Q6 Z9 Z  k! Y+ e1 y• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
3 h# h# c9 x. C( i• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
' _1 j  u2 Z9 G• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.

/ ]+ a5 {. Y7 @6 c, p' O3 S* sSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
% h9 t9 m2 {( K2 ~. W/ H( S" I( E9 x' l• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
; a0 P0 C$ o7 n2 P) {& b• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
) p/ b  N3 Y9 e• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
$ c* R& v5 G, S3 [• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
# g2 d. _" W2 I" K6 v• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
: e% n4 {3 p5 T2 W( ^• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
" A! j, m* N$ I$ w( B• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
