, ?6 j) C7 _9 P Nature of Work: The Social Worker will report to the manager of mental health services. 2 ]6 s2 W& x1 e5 K
The position builds working relationships with New Canadian Health Network partners’ staff,
( i* g: h) b$ y3 g9 M; D0 b+ unewcomers accessing these services and other institutions and service providers. The Social
/ R% ~" p4 S, Q* D0 CWorker will assist in case planning, conferencing and providing support and advocacy as
! l: B( `2 ]3 d1 ^/ R" x( p/ q' U, {- wneeded. As required, the Social Worker will assist in accessing community supports for
( `3 d( ]# n, Mnewcomers and their families. The Social Worker provides holistic and flexible initial * m. E- {* Q% @7 y! Z* z
assessment of life circumstances, needs, goals and aspirations and adheres to the client-* R3 D* n" V y3 _4 M
centered delivery model.

Qualification
8 e9 M7 E& Q$ X& j7 [/ c" w+ s
% d. r4 `" L, j( ~$ |4 N# Y4 Y Relevant undergraduate degree or diploma, or equivalent combination of education and
* H) `# L6 s" l( c% d5 lexperience in Social Work or related human service fields. - P Y1 U6 k( _; }' b. Y. k& S
Extensive knowledge of community resources, including in depth understanding of family
/ g* _% Q5 n- P/ R* p( xsupport needs 4 Q- l8 `! w' Y$ {
Experience/facility with MS Office computer applications 9 o6 M, Z9 M$ }2 z3 e' }! h
Proficiency in both official languages is an asset, as is fluency in other languages 1 r% \4 C" q' ^8 ~5 Z
Possess a valid class 5 driver’s license and own a reliable vehicle with appropriate r2 b2 Y% D& F8 |2 T: `
insurance coverage for work 0 B7 f& v2 C1 `: x J: q* S

Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience working in a related field 3 p/ _8 v) q5 h! ?$ J

Previous experience in working collaboratively with staff from partner organizations
